Is the champion spark plug RCJ8Y the same as RCJ8 ?

Install the new or cleaned spark plug with
0.5~0.7mm electrode gap and reassemble
completely before use.
This engine uses a L6RTC with 0.5-0.7 mm
electrode gaps (Or Champion: RCJ6Y,CJ7Y,
RCJ7Y, RCJ8, RCJ8Y or NGK: BM6A, BMR6A,
BPMR6A).
Use a suitable replacement and replace once
a year.

RCJ6Y is a colder plug and might be susceptible to fouling in an engine that has a RCJ8Y recommended. The Y suffix denotes an extended nose which also tends to resist fouling and is claimed to provide a better, more positive start to the flame front. In reality there is little practical difference between the standard and extended nose plug and the performance they offer in an engine in good condition and correctly tuned.

Hello, The only difference is the RCJ8Y is a resistor plug and the CJ8Y is not.

Anthony you can use any kind of spark plug brand as long as its the same size. Sometimes they have a longer sparking element and this will catch on the piston. Just be careful.

Hi, yes you can use either one. The one in it is a resistor plug which is what the "r" is. It basically reduces electrical interference with radio,s tv,s etc. Hope this helps,regards Phil.

Huh? CJ8Y and RCJ8Y are SAME heat-range. Latter has internal resistor for RF noise suppression.
