SOURCE: My Rowenta iron will not heat up. The yellow light

Inside the iron is a piece of thermal metal the is supposed to make contact with a small ceramic pin with a metal cap on it. I think this was intended to be a safety device but they fail and the iron will not heat up. The part does not seem to be available so easiest way to fix is to put a small bead of glue on the housing that forces this to make contact.

SOURCE: Rowenta Steam generator dg5030 parts

I spoke with smallappliances.com on 6/15/09 and the iron trigger is not available separately for this model yet. you have to buy the whole iron unit which is about 85.00

I've taken it apart and have the trigger switch out, i'm going to compare it to the switch for my other rowenta that is available and see if it is the same shape/size. I'll report back!

SOURCE: MY rowenta Iron wont produce steam. IT heats up

Sounds like the Steam control valve is blocked or not opening. try cleaning the iron with a kit from wallmart or similar store. Failing that :It may be cheaper to buy a new one from wallmart or similar store.

SOURCE: Iron spits out rusty water. The iron is a Rowenta

Fill it with a mix of 50% white vinegar and 50% water. Let it set for 30 minutes and steam it out for about 2 minutes. Unplug it and dump it. After it cools colpletely, fill it with water and steam it out. The rust is coming from your water supply, not the iron.

Check or replace fuse in plug. If that don't do it, then change fuse inside iron. Make sure iron is not plugged to supply.

Model dx6250 just quit working while my wife was ironing. What Happened? No sparks or nothing going on cheked power cord and it gets juice to the control but nothing beyond that.

Hi rhmoreno,

The fuse in your iron might have sacrificed itself to save you and the iron. :)
Replacing the fuse with the exact same will solve your problem but for which you will have to open the iron and thoroughly scan it to find the fuse.

hope i solved your problem, if i did then please vote for me and rate for me too :)

We have a Rowenta iron effective model DX1700, less than a year old. It will not heat. Is there an iron made that will give satisfactory service for more than a year? Are they repairable?

If the cord and plug are ok (the wires in the cord often break just at the cord protector at the iron) the most likely other problems will be the thermal fuse(s) or the element. Thermal fuses can be replaced but if the element is gone that is unfortunately that. Take the back cover off and check for continuity from the plug to the inside connections using a test light or multimeter (the iron is of course unplugged).

Iron cuts off in the middle of ironing

It is probably an intermittent cord connection next to the strain relief. You can simply remove the back cover, cut the cord, pull the remaining cord (approx 6-8") and reconnect it. You can also order part # RS-DE 245954 the whole cord assembly including the circuit board for about $25.
