SOURCE: 2 problems with speed queen washing machine

The motor is not starting this is the humming noise not a good sound, try it in spin to see if the motor runs in this direction. You may have a motor issue because of the water leaking on the motor?

Now that you have the front panel removed you can look for leaks, you will need a flash lite, start a cycle on the small setting and look for where the water is coming from. If it is coming from the center of the tub above an aluminum case which is the transmission you need a tub seal, if the water is coming from somewhere else it could be a pump, or hose, or ?

SOURCE: Draining water from inside through center.

The tub seal kit is $85 USD, You will also need a drive bell kit$23 USD, you should replace the upper bearing $?, for a complete rebuilt I would also replace the brake pads all three, and the belt, maybe the pump if it doesnt come off easily. Plus what you break taking it apart, so we are looking @ least $150.

Yes you can do it yourself, you dont need the tub wrench if you can borrow a deep socket, its the drive bell seal tool you really need.

Please let me know if you have additional questions. the serial number will tell you the age first two digits are year next two are month, starts with and R, built in Ripon WI.

SOURCE: Oil spots on clothes

HI Friend,
First of all relax alright, you are in safe hands.
See every washing machine has a turbine at the bottom f the washing bowl and below that there is a motor. And there wud be a safety valve or (washer ) which basically looks like a ring made out rubber or plastic and when this ring gets outdated or torn it stops controlling the oil flow and thats the reason y ur clothes have the oil stains ,so once it is replaced you will not have this issue.
This would surely help you in getting the clothes clean and tidy.!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And please rate me so that I can improve myself(vote).

All of the fins broke off of my agitator and my machine is only 3 years old.

what were you washing? You can get a new agitator, go to searspartsdirect.com and put in the model number to pull up a diagram.

Will not start washing process

Is the belt broke?

If not, will it spin it you put it in spin mode?

If it spins, but not agitates, the transmission is locked up in agitation and needs replaced. This is a major undertaking.

Won't drain - no pumping sounds at all

if agitates an does not spin means is not going to drain, cause for not spinning broken door switch, look an see if you can feel it hanging or loose, if the swtich is broken it will not go into spin mode at all...........door switch is a safety device!

At start of spin cycle water splashes over top and runs down.

Hi, just fixed the daughters speed queen, same problem. The three brake shoes were worn allowing the tub to spin with the agitator.
replaced the shoes, washer fine. At first I thought it was the top ring. spent 30 dollars for nothing.
good luck

Click on Speed Queen above in blue...............front loaders would be nice. But ask the dealer where the filter is, what the codes mean, etc. These are all supposed to be secret - so their techs can come around to make more money..... No jokes its real.
