The surface of the embroidery is often a combination of the two threads. The bobbin thread is intertwined with the top spool thread to make the design. Easy fix: make sure the bobbin thread is the same color as the top spool thread.

SOURCE: Brother PE-150V bobbin thread

For embroidery, and zig-zag, and because the needle makes side movements, it needs more needle thread.
So try to keep you needle thread not very tight,
and tight up your bobbin case tension more, so that the two threads meet under the meterial.

SOURCE: Designer 1 Embroidery Bobbin problem

Designer 1 bobbin case tension adjustment:
When the bobbin runs out, sometimes it bends the bobbin case tension spring. Then tension is too light. Take the bobbin case out of the machine. Tie the loose bobbin thread to the Designer 1 needle plate. Insert the bobbin in the bobbin case. Here’s the tricky part set the bobbin case on the table as if it’s in the machine (Bobbin is visible and sitting horizontal to table top) threaded as if sewing and loose end tied to needle plate (that is removed from the machine). Lift the bobbin case off the table rotate it so that the flat side of the bobbin are vertical to the table and no longer horizontal. Have the bobbin case oriented so that the thread coming out of the bobbin case sprint (slot area where it is put for sewing) is at the top. Lift it high enough that the needle plate is lifted from the table. It should not release thread unless you shake it gently and then a very small amount of thread. The needle plate is the exact weight resistance your bobbin case should have on the thread.

Why does the embroidery come out white (bobbin color) and not green (thread color)?

You are either sewing upside down (!) - with the right side facing down not up or, more likely, you have the tension too tight so the topthread is pulling the bobbin thread through to the right side.

My brother pe770 is allowing bobbin thread to show on top sporadically which makes the stitching look like it is speckled with white. I have adjusted tension..cleaned and changed everything.

Shelia,

when sewing these parts of the design, (small stitches? ) load your bobbin with the same top thread. Just match the top thread color, and done! No more white bobbin thread in the topside of your designs.

Why does the bobbin keep showing up on top of the embroidery? I have changed the bobbin, I have rethreaded the top thread, I have changed the needle, I have cleaned the bobbin area. How else can the...

Loosen the top tension a little or tighten the bobbin tension ever so slightly. If that fails you can always color the bobbin threads with a magic marker the same color as the embroidery thread. You might go to Superior Thread's web site and try some prewound bobbins. They are worth their weight in gold. Dr. Bob knows all about all kinds of thread and is very good about answering questions. I think some of his Thread University videos are available too.

The machine is pulling through more bobbin thread than embroidery thread

Sounds like a tension issue. Try rethreading the upper thread first and then lower the upper thread tension.

I have a ce 100 and the bobbin thread comes up and gets into my embroidery pattern. how do i loosen the top tension to stop this from happening. my purple flower has white in it from the bobbin :(

Just an FYI-the bobbin thread needs to match your top thread. The majority of the thread that appears in the top of your embroidery actually IS the bobbin thread. The machine is working correctly. Don't use a bobbin full of white thread-instead, thread a bobbin with the color your doing the embroidery work in to match and you will have a perfectly beautiful embroidery.

Your machine probably came with brother embroidery bobbin thread (one spool, white)...I used it until it was gone and did buy more embroidery bobbin thread at a regular superstore (it wasn't brother brand though)...however, I have since used regular thread and not had problems. HOWEVER, be sure it is good, quality thread - none of that $.50/spool stuff. That knots up and simply doesn't look good if it does work. Good luck!

Embroidery Problem with my disney

Check your bobbin case. Thread the bobbin through your bobbin case while holding it in your left hand. Pull the thread with your right hand and feel if there is any resistance. If not, you need to adjust the tension on the bobbincase. Also check if a piece of thread or fluff did not get stuck between the tension blades on the bobbin case. If you are not sure how to adjust the tension on the bobbin case, ask your dealer to do it.
