My Samsung LED has no picture, but there is sound. There is backlight and the tv displays more of a purple color rather than black when on. Do I need to replace the LED panel or is the problem another part (T-con board or power supply board)?

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Hisense TV's usually use PCB Boards by Vestel and not Hisense themselves, have a look at: Vestel Help If the Boards in your Hisense match this Board/Part Number format at least you'll know what to search for, replacing the power supply will not help unless the process has been incorporated into the power supply and that is not known for certain yet

Do flashlight test to see if y0ou can see an image - if so replace the inverter board that powers backlights. If no image then go for the main board.

Some of the 32" & 40" Samsung LCD TV has the problem, the problem is weak florescent back lights tube, you need open the panel & replace the weak one.
