Open it using your current code. Using a coin or screwdriver in the notch on the end cap, turn cap clockwise to the diagonal position. Line up your new letters/code then turn the cap back to the vertical, done!

SOURCE: resetting combination bike lock

Try rotating locking device 180 degrees and hold it down and set combo to 0000, then let up on locking bar. That should clear the old combo. To reset, rotate the device 180 degrees and hold down while inserting your new 4 digit code and then release it.

SOURCE: Have a wordlock and I have forgotten the word I made up what can I do to reset the lock?

Well, short of help from WordLock, you might try an old safe cracking method. Put tension on the removable plug and slowly turn each wheel. You 'might' feel/hear the slot inside the wheel catching on the plug. It might not be felt on the first wheel you try; if you don't feel anything at all, move to the next wheel. Then the next, etc. I think one of those wheels will 'tick'. Leave that wheel there and move on to one of the other three. Repeat until they all line up and 'there you are'. Mind, this may not work if everything inside is super polished; I'm counting on some rough edges to catch on each other. Good luck.

How do I unlock this? I can’t for the life of me remember the combination... Looks like the brand is Wordlock

Over 100,000 combinations means you cannot guess the combination.

Hardened steel can be broken somehow, but I don't know if you need to pay a locksmith.

If it is locked on an object that iself can be broken, that might offer a way to open it instead of trying to cut the steel in the lock itself.

We have a homeless ministry and donate bikes to those in need. A lady gave us a lock she found after her father died & it did not have the code. Is there a reset for WordLock Secure Bike Lock?

Hello, Peggy -

Apparently Wordlock combination locks use 4 letters and 5 letters for their codes.

This is a link to an instructive YouTube video on how to "crack" a 4 letter Wordlock code:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PQckgVdJsg

If the lock your ministry has been given is a 5 letter code, then just follow the video instructions and add a 5th step.

Also, if you or another adult finds breaking the code a bit of a challenge, I suspect a teen might be skillful in cracking the code. :)

Once the code is cracked, make sure to write it down. You can use a piece of masking tape and write the code down and tape it around the cable.

This is a link to written instructions for resetting the word code for a 4 letter Wordlock:
https://getawaytips.azcentral.com/how-to-reset-a-combination-on-a-wordlock-luggage-lock-12512246.html

If the lock is has a 5 letter code, the written instructions can be modified for 5 letters.

Then, the written instructions can be printed and packaged (placed in "zipper lock" plastic bag) with the Wordlock bike lock and cable for a new owner.

Best wishes.

You can't reset it if it is currently locked together. You have to try to "crack" the combination.
