It is not so difficult to repare if you have scills to open the monitor and scills in un-soldering/soldering electronic components, than yes it is worth it, but if you go to a shop they have a tendency to sell you another monitor since the price they charge to repare the powersupply is about the same as a new monitor
The picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes
off after few seconds and the power led or button is on, it means the
picture
board of your monitor has developed fault.
The best thing for you
to
do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity
to help with the replacement of the picture board
because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to
complicate issues.
If the power light turns yellow, there is no signal being received by the monitor from your computer's graphics card. The screen will shut off (go into idle mode), which is a low-power state, that saves energy. Check that the cable on the back of your computer is plugged into the right graphics card (many PCs come with more than one, these days). There may be one built into the computer's mainboard, and another one may be on a separate graphics card located somewhere else on the machine. Only one of these will work on startup. If one doesn't work, try the other.
