SOURCE: Brown spots coming from steam iron

you can mix 50% water with 50% vinager let it set in the iron overnight then turn it on and let the steam run out. What happens is the inside of the iron where the water is had corroded or rusted or has lime deposits.the vinager will break this loose overnight.also after you let the iron steam out all the mixture, flush the iron 4 to 5 times and start using fresh water from a store bought gallon.your tap water is probably full of iron.

SOURCE: Brown spots coming from steam iron

Fill with 50/50 water vinegar solution. Get it good and hot and let it sit for two hours. Rinse and repeat if necessary. Buy a gallon of water from the market and use that from now on. This will fix your problem. The Iron is concentrating the iron in you water and this is what is causing the brown spots. Hope you find this helpful. If you do please take the time to rate it fixya and maybe I will keep helping people for free.

SOURCE: Rowenta Steam Iron Leak

I have purchased two Rowenta irons. Both have the problem with water leakage. The entire iron looses all of it's water....both in the stand up position and the sitting down position. This happened after a couple of months for both items. I contacted Rowenta and they never responded. I will never purchase another item from them. Obviously, the irons must be defective. I'm going to contact consumer affairs.

SOURCE: need to know how to clean a rowenta iron plate

As long as it's not a coated surface - plain steel - get 0000 steelwool to rub it with. It will take some elbow grease but it will work to clean and (almost) polish the surface.

Need manual for rowenta DW2090 iron

I have provided a link to a manual that seems to belong to your model. But unsure what features your model has. This is not available for some reason at the Rowenta USA website.
Refer page 7 of the manual available at this site
http://laundry.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/rowenta/1103898336__4605.html?p=1

Self Clean - prolongs the life of the iron
The Self clean function flushes dirt and scale particles
out of the steam chamber.
To operate:
• Fill the tank with untreated tap water up to the maximum
mark and heat the iron to max. temperature.
• Unplug from the mains.
• Hold iron over a sink horizontally, push the steam control
3 past the position and into the Self Clean position
and hold it there: steam will now begin to build up.
After a few seconds water and steam will emerge from
the soleplate, rinsing dirt and scale particles out of the
steam chamber.

After approx. 1 minute move the steam control slide to
the position.
• Insert mains plug and allow the iron to heat up again.
• Wait until the remaining water has evaporated.
• Unplug from the mains and allow iron to fully cool
down.
• When cool, the soleplate can be wiped with a damp
cloth.
We recommend using the Self Clean function approx.
Every 2 weeks. If the water is very hard, the iron should
be cleaned weekly.
Self Clean Valve
The self clean valve prevents the drip hole into the steam
chamber from furring or blocking up. To ensure the iron
continues to function properly, open and close the valve
by sliding the steam control to max then min a few times
after use.

The tank in my rowenta iron is producing steam but the iron is not producing steam

Yes the iron needs to be cleaned. They do have a descaler to clean. the Steam valve with a electronic switch is broken, that is what opens and lets the steam out of the iron when you press the button.
Google Rowenta repair Centers.

Issues with Rowenta Steam Iron DG 05030 steam hose

Does your iron have a self cleaning feature? It sounds to me like you have calcium build up and when you squeeze the hose it displaces the "clog" just enough to allow steam through.

It is sticky and looks like glue.It looks gooey

Hello :

Here I'm going to tell you the basics of cleaning your Rowenta iron :

Things You'll Need:1:Rowenta Soleplate Cleaning Kit
2: Ironing board
3:Clean, dry cloth
4:Two cotton terry cloths, such as washcloths

Now to the cleaning :

1:Pour out any water from the iron. Turn the steam iron on to the "Cotton" setting, which is the one with three dots on the settings dial.

2:Cover an area of the ironing board with a clean, dry cloth. Fold one washcloth or other piece of cotton terry cloth in half and place it onto the cloth on the ironing board.

3:Dispense a 2-inch long daub of cleaning solution onto the terry cloth. Run the heated iron over the cloth directly on the cleaning solution. Move the steam iron in a circular motion over the cleaner on the cloth for a minute or two.

4:Remove the steam iron from the cloth. Carefully wipe any remaining cleaning solution from the soleplate using the second terry cloth.

5:Add water to the steam iron. Turn on the "Steam" or "Burst of Steam" feature. Run the iron over the clean, dry cloth on the ironing board to ensure the cleaning product is entirely gone from the soleplate.

MY rowenta Iron wont produce steam. IT heats up

Sounds like the Steam control valve is blocked or not opening. try cleaning the iron with a kit from wallmart or similar store. Failing that :It may be cheaper to buy a new one from wallmart or similar store.
