You have to "close session" on the disk before it will play anywhere else but the camera. Same goes for a CD or DVD you make on your PC. It will play on your PC ok but not on any other player
The someone that told you to try cleaning the lens with a cotton swab (q-tip) was right. if that doesn't work, check all the cables that go to or are in the pickup assembly. If all that seems OK, then you very well may need to replace the assembly.
Your Blu-ray drive has gone bad most likely. Try inserting a blu-ray movie to double check. Also, try to play a music cd or a dvd. I usually see that cd's and dvds will play but the BR movies and games will not.If your concole is less that 1 year old, contact sony for a warranty repair. If it is older than 1 year, they will repair it for a cost.
hi! i think you have problem on the pick-up lens assembly, here in our country we do try to replace the spindle motor before attempting to change the pick-up lens.
the combo drive you listed above is a cd-rw/ DVD-ROM....meaning that it will play and burn cd, cd-r, and cd-rw disks. the dvd rom will only be able to play dvd-rom and dvd-r disks providing they are in the proper format. check that the disk in question is not a dvd-rw or (+2) disk. the drive will not recognize that a disk is in the drive if the disk isnt compatable. try a dvd movie, if that works then a dvd-r, if that works then try a dvd-rw +1. if the last option doesnt work then you will have to stick with the dvd-rom and dvd-r, or purchase a dvd-rw drive to install.
The disc needs to be finalized before you play it on other equipment.
But to do this will render the disk unusable- If you intend to record over it in time,
So it is best to copy the info across to the PC- burn that to a disk and finalize it then most other DVD players[Not all] will run it.
