Time on text message is an hour behind

Tap on the Settings app and then Date & Time.
Set the time or have it use network provided time.

Check if you have set the time zone correctly. As you mention that you have set the location correctly, the problem is not likely with your mobile. Talk to a service representative of you mobile service provider to resolve this issue. Insist that it should be solved as soon as possible.

Your phone isnt set to the correct character support. Go to text messages and go down the list till you find settings. select text message settings and find "Character support" if its set to "unicode" change it to auto or GSM-Alphabet (Y).. Good luck

Please define approx 5 hours. If that's exactly five hours, it sounds like a time zone problem.

If it's not exact, by how much might any one message's time stamp vary, please?
