SOURCE: Dust on Drum message after installinng new Drum

Dust on drum refers to as you correctly stated the wire, it carries a electric charge that transfers the image. If the wire gets contaminated the electricity dont flow right so dust on drum is desplayed, you drum cart is faulty, they are not repairable items, go buy another then claim new/old one as faulty from them. Um aH.

SOURCE: xerox 5305 copier excess toner

sounds like faulty drum cleaning blade, which is usually contained in the replacement drum module.I would be inclined to take the drum unit back where you got it (unless you replaced it with a second-hand one) 99% certain the problem is contained in that module

SOURCE: Aculaser C2600 "clean sensor" message

This is a common characteristic which arises from using improperly remanufactured toner cartridges.
Otherwise it is a bad Epson original one - which is highly unusual!

When the C2600 runs through its calibration it prints strips of each colour on the transfer belt which are sensed for density. You will get a "clean sensor message" if the reading for any of the strips drops below a certain value.

The first thing to do is to depress the clean sensor lever behind the front cover several times . If that doesn't fix it I would advise you to remove each cartridge in turn (go to reset menu and scroll down to change toner) and inspect the toner on the surface of the roller. If there is any form of "sheen" then you'll need to replace the cartridge.

It is possible to adjust the doctor blade if you know what you're doing but be careful as there are shims on each side. Loosening and moving the blade bar towards the roller slightly, refixing and then turning the side cog to rotate the roller can sometimes resolve problem. Not a good idea really unless you're in an emergency.
There are some good remanufactured cartridges and bad ones. If you want to avoid this buy genuine Epson cartridges - I know they're expensive but what does the down time cost!

SOURCE: Dust on Drum...

I had this problem too. I took out the drum and vacuum the drum with a vacuum cleaner ( no brush ) while at the same time manually rotate the drum cyclinder. It worked. After a month or two, you might have to do it again. But everytime, it solved the dust problem.

Lanier error code 00

That is the master clamper area. Take off the rear cover. From the rear it is on the right. There is a motor and a rack gear that moves to open the drum master clamper when removing and loading a master. With the back cover removed, try to make a master while watching that assembly. You can also put the drum in and drive the motor by hand to watch and see if opens the drum clamper.

I have a black line on my copies. i have a lanier 7320 copier. Is it my drum?

It could likely be the drum. Is the line on copies and prints, or just copies? If it's just on copies, it's not the drum.

Lanier 5635 error code displaying a SC320

sc320 on the Lanier 5635 is a laser unit error code. Often if you power cycle the machine (turn it off with the orange power switch on the left side of the copier, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on) the code will clear and the copier will resume normal operation. If the error code comes back or doesn't clear, you'll probably need to replace either the entire laser assembly or the polygon mirror motor inside the laser unit. These are best done by a professional -- contact your local Lanier service company if the problem persists.

My lanier is making dark copies

One of the most common reasons for a Lanier 5222 or 5227 to make dark copies is a problem with the drum unit or developer. Fortunately on those machines, the drum unit and developer are all self-contained in one easily-replacable unit, called the PCU (photoconductor).

If you don't have a new PCU handy, you can order one from the same company you get your toner from. The PCU should generally be replaced every 60,000 copies, but sometimes it may need to be replaced sooner (especially if you run a lot of dark copies or make a lot of copies of images) and it can often run longer than 60,000.

Replacing the PCU is easy -- it sits right next to the toner bottle, and all you have to do is slide the old PCU out and slide the new PCU in (once you remove all of the tape and other trappings from it). Instructions will be included in the box with the new PCU.

Please rate the effectiveness of this solution. Thank you!

Lanier 5622 Prints vertical lines

You could remove the color and black&white drum units and check from below the units to visually observe lines on all the 4 drums. If so, you have to change the drum unit/units. Drums occassionally get damaged before life this way due to solid toner particles inside the toner bottle.Always "shake the toners very well" before replacement, and if you print rarely, then remove the toners and do the shaking to prevent clogging due to inactivity.
