Hi, My Sharp Refrigerator (Model SJ-F624ST-SL) motor is making a loud noise. The noise stops when you open the door. The noise is that loud that we can hear it from upstairs.

SOURCE: Sears Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Loud humming noise

That sound is usually your icemaker calling for water. you can turn off your icemaker by lifting the little arm on the icemaker. As the icemaker calls for water the valve will be activated and will hum. This sound is usually not very loud. If your valve is making that much noise you may consider replacing the valve. The part number for you water inlet valve is #2315533 The retail price is $60.18 . I do have these on hand and available to ship out today if you need one. Please just let me know. You may also consider replacing your filter if your refrigerator has one. Thanks and I hope this will fixYa

SOURCE: GE JVM1650 Microwave Making Loud Noise

hello Frank. Sorry to tell you that the magnetron is going bad and making that terrible noise. Since the inside of a microwave, even unplugged has up to 2000 residual and deadly volts of electricity I recommend either calling a pro or replacing the unit.

SOURCE: RF263 series Samsung Refrigerator just began

Hi

The sound comes when there is ice build up around the fan and the fan will hit it causing this sound. You can try to leave it unplugged for around 4-24hrs and also make sure that the area near the back is clear so that airflow can get through. If the issue returns then replace the thermostat. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Sharp SJ-F80SP Four Door Refrigerator. I have an SJ-F80SP-SL, the freezer is working but the fridge is not. The light is on.

Question edited for clarity, and add maker.

It may need a top up of refrigerant gas, but first check that the circulation fan in the fridge is working. Also make sure the condenser coils are clean.

Sharp SJ F60PC SL refrigerator-freezer is freezing the refrigerator compartment.

I would take a look to make sure your coils are not frozen or covered with ice on the inside of the fridge on the back wall and also double check the drain line on the back.

You could have a faulty switch that controls the thermostat as well.

I own an LG up right refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. The unit is about three years old and we have been very happy with the frig. Lately the unit has been making a loud fan winding noise....

  • i would just replace the fan motor $40
  • they have bushings in them that sometimes make noise when the motor shaft moves to a certain position. when you open the door it disrupts the airflow of the refrigerator and the motor shaft will go to a different position causing the noise to stop.
