If the remote is not working,try to open the remote and check the battery terminal the one that is connected in the pcb if loosed, then if you have a cellphone with a camera, point the sensor in the camera lens then press any button, then try to look the monitor of your cellphone you will notice that their is a glowing red light it indicates that the sensor is in good condition if you do not see anything try to replace the sensor.
Try fixing your remote controller.
Take off the battery, open the back of your remote, lift the circuit board, clean the green painted part of the circuit board, with cotton balls slightly damp with rubbing alcohol as well as the black thingy behind your remote pad, let it dry put it back together, replace with a new battery and try if it works.
Is there a little clear plastic strip sticking out from the remote? Some times, to prevent battery usage, the battery is insulated with a little plastic thingy that needs to be removed.
SOME OF THE REMOTES REQUIRE THAT THE KEY BE IN THE IGNITION, IN THE ON POSITION. TAKE THE BATTERY OUT AND WAIT 10 MINUTES. Store manager suggested purchasing a new remote at $70. I requested asking the manufacturer for repair. Feedback, repair more costly than new remote. I opted for buying a new DVD player, not goodmans, for $100. Thanks.
Did you install the batteries correctly?
Some remotes (Universal) need to be re-programed when you install new batteries.
Go to remotefinder.rca.com/default.aspx?site=rca for proper codes.
Make sure there isn't corrosion on the battery terminals. Try cleaning the battery terminals. Batteries left for a long time in one device will leak and corrode the terminals so even with new batteries the remote might not work. New batteries usually help too LOL !! Good Luck!
