SOURCE: Amana PTAC PTC093A35AA won't blow heat
The reset button is located behing a panel on the front of the unit that is labeled Heat Reset. If that label is gone then look around, it is a small hole, small enough for a paper clip to fit through.
That being said, I have 137 of these units in one of my hotels and have not had a single one needing to be reset. You probably are going to need a new control board kit. These can be purchased from Amana. They are $130. Make sure that you have pulled the heater coil out and inspected it first. Also, there was a recall years ago where Amana was supposed to contact and send out new voltage switches. These are the round black things that the Brown heater wires connect to on the upper and lower side of the heating coil. You should also try to replace those if you find the coil in good condition. I have had those resolve heating issues. Most of the heating issues were a result of a bad relay on the control board though.
Please remember to rate this fix.
SOURCE: How do you override the FD in the Display of the Amana PTAC
I just had that problem of having fd display and it locks everything up. makes sure you check the ds1 and ds2 and ms1 and ms2 if these are shorted then you will get that problem. I had to wiggle the wires in the connector and it worked as soon as i pushed on the right wire. They apparently are very sensitive.

sound like a thermister problem, however this may also be a circuit board problem, the system is controled by the outdoor board, check to see if you have a blown inline fuse in the outdoor unit, it will be under a red case in one of the wires.
