No. The DSC-W50 will not work as a webcam. The USB cable will let you transfer pictures and videos that have already been taken to your computer. It will not let you stream live video to your computer.

Try to download driver of your camera at the site below.

YOU NEED TO POINT TO SONY-eSUPPORT DSC-W50-SOFTWAREUPDATES AND DRIVERS.
