SOURCE: How do I remove the

Hi,

In order to do this, you need to have your air conditioner turned off, and then simply pull the tabs on the filter in an upward direction, and the screen type of filter just slides right out. You can wash the filter under hot soapy water, rinse and then just shake it dry. Replace the filter and turn your air conditioner on for a few minutes, and it's all dry.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

Can i take my frigidaire ac out of the case without removing it from the window?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that you want to know whether you can take your Frigidaire air conditioning, model# FRA256ST2, out of the case, without removing the case from the window. Yes you are. Below are step by step instructions for removing your air conditioning from the case.

    1)Unplug your air conditioner.
    2)Take the front grill off.
    3)Remove the filter.
4)There are four panel screws, two on each side of where the front grill and filter were. Remove these screws.
5)Gently pull out your air conditioner.

For replacing your air conditioner, follow the steps in reverse. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your washer light status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

The interior of the air conditioner behind the adjustable directional flow fins is covered with mildew. How can it be cleaned?

Remove the front of he unit, as if you're going to clean the filter. That will give you access to what you need to clean. Use warm water and dish washing liquid to wipe off the mildew. Rinse with clear water and a sponge, dry thoroughly and replace the filter and the front of the unit.

NOTE: Before attempting any of the above. Turn the unit OFF & Unplug it.

Removal of front cover, so filter can be cleaned

On my air conditioner the filter slides out from the top of the air intake grill. It looks like part of the grill but look closely you should see the seam across the top of the grill. You don't have to take the front grill off.

I cant take the front and back off of the air conditioner so i can take out the shipping safety stuff. how do i take them off?

The plastic front must come off. Usually the screws to take the front off are behind the front grille of the plastic front by the filter. The unit will probably slide out of the case when you get the plastic front off, but at times they will put a shipping screw through the back side of the case on a lower corner into the unit. This screw(s) will also have to come out.

Frigidaire air conditioner where is the filter

Behind the front grille. If there is none there, someone removed it and disposed of it. Go to your local hardware store or your Favorite Big Box lunmber yard and get a replacement. Replacements are universal and ususally need to be trimmed to fit.

Frigidaire FAH086N1T Thru-Wall/Window Air Conditioner

clean your return air filter, and while you have the front cover off you may want to clean the evaporator as well (it's the silver grill looking thing) some compressors come off their springs during transport and will rattle for years but still work fine.
