My other TV is fine. Remote seems to work okay, turns off and one, speakers and mute button work.
Do a hard reset to this set, and then check. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Set TV to standby and press Info, menu, mute then power. The set should turn on with the service menu available scroll down until you select reset press right hand arrow next to enter and then enter. TV will turn off. When switched on it goes into Plug and Play mode to reset the analogue and digital tuner. Allow a full reset then you should be ok.

Solution that worked for me:
Beware: Although the process should be safe, it technically voids your warranty.
Enter the service menu:
1 - turn of tv with remote
2 - press and release in the following order on the remote: Info, Menu, Mute. Make sure remote is pointing at the tv
3 - turn on the tv from the remote
4 - you will see the service menu. using the down arrow on the remote
select the Reset option. Using the right arrow button at this point
will do a hard reset.
5 - Wait a few seconds, turn TV on
6 - you will have to rescan analogue and digital channel but it should be working now.

Hold down the tamper proof button on your remote for up to ten
seconds, until the tamper proof light will blink and light
will go off. This will turn off the Tamper Proof button.

You can always turn your TV off, unplug it from the electrical outlet, wait for 30 seconds or so, plug it back in, then turn it back on. If you have kids check the menu options to see if they may have tampered with it unintentionally. If all else fails, call Vizio and ask for their professional help. If you are not satisfied with their help and assistance, make a complaint by going to BBB.org (Better Business Bureau). Maybe if you tell Vizio that you're going to call the BBB then they might take you a little more seriously.
