Dead Mobo? Bought a FIC K8-800T motherboard combo w/AMD Sempron 3300+2.0GHz CPU/Heatsink/Fan and 1GB DDR400 RAM. Followed all instructions, including clearing CMOS, and then putting jumper back to pins 1&2 (default). I don't get a beep nor a screen, so can't even enter POST setup. I have a GEforce 4 440e 64Mb AGP video card. I did disconnect everything and still couldn't even get to POST screen. Tried suggestion to strip down to essentials, so only thing hooked up was CPU/Fan, RAM, PowerSwitch. Nothing. Replaced CMOS battery, and tried different RAM. Nothing. Took CPU out of slot and put back in. Nothing. I've been reading a lot of posts about similar problems with the same motherboard. You can't get through to their Tech phone #, and no answers via email, so I am very open to suggestions. I'm afraid I may have a DOA mobo, and waited too long to return. :-(

Do you have both power connectors from the PSU hooked up?

You need both the large one near the ram, and the smaller square 4-pin one near the printer port

I have upgraded my k7s8xe with athlon xp 3200 cpu. I have adjusted the jumpers to fsb 200 & installed 1gb ddr 400 ram. system keeps rebooting os vista enterprise. any suggestions. also can i install 2...

First of all, if your FSB is set to 200mhz, the system will not support DDR400. "CPU at FSB 200MHz mode, it will NOT support DDR400". The FSB will have to be either 333 or 400mhz in order to utilize DDR400. Only 1GB of DDR400 is supported. As to your rebooting issue, could be because of these incompatibilities and/or you did not properly seat the heatsink/fan on the new CPU, which also means you might not have properly applied thermal compound or might have no applied it at all. All the compatibility information for this motherboard can be found at: http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=K7S8XE

Your CPU may have a problem

Have you removed all memory, other cards and unhooked all other drives to see if a short exists there? With a 300W PS some other component may be pulling too much that the CPU can't start so it tells you the problem is with the CPU or The CPU its refering to is on the video card? Good Luck, Tim

Not posting

Maybe a silly question to ask; but did you connect the processor power lead, as unlike some processors this needs a seperate supply.
