condensation doesn't evaporate
it runs off the evaporator fins into a drain channel and out side
it is possible that the drain is blocked
the action of an air conditioner is to remove the humidity (condensation from the room) and drain it outside
if it is to evaporate then the purpose of the air conditioner would be defeated.
I think you can wash it, but before you put it back the filter must be DRY. If there is moisture smell you also can put one or two car air refreshers (I do this to my AC). Good luck.
Jules, without a correct Model Number (not Vision Aire, that's just a glitzey name), it's hard to steer you in the right direction on where to find the knob. If however, you can come up with a correct model number, you can go to the link below and search for it by your Model Number.
Hi, I can tell you this, you will have a data plate on this unit giving you the R.L.A.'s of the compressor, and combination blower and condenser fan motor. It will also note the L.R.A.'s of the compressor. These stand for running load amps and locked rotor amps if the compressor locks up. That reading will be much higher then the R.L.Amp's. You may have to remove the front to find it, but it must be there. You can also with a good strong light look at the top of the compressor, and on the motor from outside and it says what each one's amperage. It may also show you the Full Load Amp's to. I hope this information has been helpful to you. Please do rate me in my help to you and be kind as I am sure you will be. If you need help on this unit, contact me by my user name below. I will always have your information on file also. Sincerely, Shastalaker7 A/C, Heating, & Refrigeration Contractor.
Since 'TCA101D' - is your model number I'm assuming you're looking for the Serial Number - which is located on a metal/paper tag located usually on the front of the unit, which btw will also have Btu's, Voltage, Amps, and Model Number.
Often this tag is on the plastic front cover of the unit.
I have a small knob for a Carrier Siesta II TCA81D air conditioner. I do not know if it would be the same size as one for the TCA087D. I can send this to you from the US, no charge. I know what a hassle it can be to solve this kind of problem.
