I have a ds lite. when the power button is turn on the green light comes on then the red light flashes with the bottom screen and everything shuts down. I tested the f1 and f2 fueses are good. I removed the data line to the top screen and i get the same problem. I removed the power lines to the top screen and then the green light flashes then the unit shuts down. I conected the data line but not the power lines white and black wires and the green light comes on then it shuts down. Any ideas.

One or both your screens have blown.
Try removing the motherboard from the screens and attach the battery the green light should turn on and stay on.
Now attach the lower screen and turn on. If the screen is ok the screen and green light will flash and then turn off. (if the screen doesn't flash the bottom screen is you're problem and will have to be replaced)
If this happens the problem is then you're top screen which you will have to replace.

Further to my recent problem re cannot find card I set the settings to automatically go to card so that when it says touch screen to continue just ignore and wait a second or two for it to start on its own. I also found that opening the lid FULLY back before starting up has some effect.??? It works for me !!!! Good luck NWW

This can sometimes be caused by the single smt capacitor on the board in the top half that the screen cables plug in to. Try replacing the cap or the entire board.

Do so how you normally would when playing the GBA game on a GBA (It best be a GBA game, because DS and DS Lites cannot communicate to older Game Boy games), go through the menus (on the game) and delete the files. It's not a matter of the DS having the problem it's the game.
I've went through the menu's and deleted the game but my game still has "corrupted data":
First, do all you can do, clean out the slot in the DS Lite, and the cartridge (with a damp, NOT SOAKING WET, cotton swab), and try the game again. Start a new save file, save it after a ways, and try to load it again. IF it -STILL- has a corrupted save file problem, then it is time to bring it to the seller or the manufacturer.
The seller: Telling the seller what's happening is great. BUT SHOWING the seller that the save data never loads really helps! Customers can say quite a few things to Sellers just to get a new game or their money back, but showing them is pretty much proof. No, you don't -HAVE- to show them, but if the seller is -that- skeptical, it may be wise to bring your DS along with you.
The manufacturer: All games have a Technical support call number, also going to nintendo's main site,www.nintendo.com/, and going straight to their technical support pages helps too. Sending it in will warrant a little wait time, but if done correctly you will receive a fixed or new game from them as well.

Check if "L2" is in place. Ususally drop from its position in the circuit board near the power switch, is a little black piece with solder in 2 sides. And the symptoms are almost the same as the blown F1 and F2 fuses.
If you opened your DS and didnt found it or wasnt aware and lost it you'll need a parts circuit board to take it from and solder it to your board, as theres no known part specification or schematics for the DS, at least as I know the only way is using a Henry meter to get the L2 value.
And you might have a water damaged board or broken top screen ribbon cable too as for the tick sound from the speaker is new for me.
