How do I reset the administrator password on a Seagate GO_FLEX Pro

You can't unless you lose all your data, that's how (Maxtor system) was introduced into Seagate . ;) unless they created some Keyfile method which I do not recall having on my harddrives :)

Try resetting the cables or use different cables.

Get another Go Flex same model an swap the drives.

If the drive is detected you could try a free app called Recuva.

If you want someone to help you remotely try an online data recovery service like http://FreeDataRecovery.us

Reset password from another user account with administrator credentials

If you have forgotten your password if you have another user account with administrative privileges you can log into that account and change your original user accounts password from the User Accounts applet in Control Panel.

If you dont have another account like this set up or dont have the password to it you will need to log into the built-in Administrator account.

In XP Home boot the computer into Safe Mode.

Do this by repeatedly tapping the F8 key as the computer is starting up.

This will get you to the right menu

Navigate using your Up arrow key the mouse will not work here

Once in Safe Mode you will see the normally hidden Administrator account

The default password is a blank

In XP Pro you do not need to go into Safe Mode

At the Welcome Screen do Ctrl-Alt-Del twice to get the classic Windows logon box.

Type in "Administrator" and whatever password you assigned when you set up Windows.

If you reset the built-in Administrator accounts password in Home or have Pro and dont remember the password there are ways to change the password for that account to a blank

Have you tried a blank password for the administrator. Just press enter when administrator pops up. If that does not work, try administrator. That should solve your problem.

You have to have your original administrator password for this. To change the administrator,

1. Open the Settings application.
2. Click the icon that says Accounts.
3. Make sure the icon that looks like a padlock (bottom left) is in the unlock position, if it is not: Click it and enter the Administrator username and password.
4. Go to the user you want to make administrator, and check the box that says Allow User to Administer This Computer
5. If you want to remove the previous administrator, you go to his user and uncheck that box.
6. Click the padlock to save.
7. Done!

When you boot up to the log in screen type in administrator as user to log in if you cant log in during the boot up process you will see on the screen for a short amount of time press a certain key to enter set up Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS scroll down to set user password or supervisor password you can change or remove your password from there also click start control panel user accounts on the users tab,click the name of the computer administrator you can change the password there

You can get a Password Reset disc download and burn to CD. Copy/paste the address below, into your address bar of your browser.

Download this file and burn it to CD. Put into drive and turn on PC, and boot from the CD. Follow instructions, choose the correct USER. & BLANK the password. make sure you say OK to write the data, and reboot. The logon password will now be reset blank.

You can ask for your password hint to help you remember your password, as long as you
originally created a password hint.
If you still can't remember your password, the only way to regain access to your Seagate
Secure drive is to KeyErase it. This will erase ALL of your files and allow you to reset your
password.
Once you KeyErase your Seagate Secure drive, there is no way to recover your files (even by
using a data recovery service). Only do this as a last resort!

The one other thing you may try is to copy the folder if you can get to it, someplace else on another drive and go to properties and see if you can change the ownership of the folder and gain access.

Otherwise, keep trying to remember.
