Sorry guys, have checked on other forums and unless it is still under warranty, or you are good with electronics, it is not worth fixing. Apparently it is a problem with the chip and capacitors on the board. I opened up my STB after fining this out and found heat stress marks all around the chip. Result : Its dead!

Is the red light flashing at first?
The unit may be going into protect mode. Lets hope it has done the job and the receiver has protected itself from failure.
Protect mode can result from speaker wires touching each other or the Amps2_bing.gif metal case. Check that first.
It can also be caused by unstable ohm loads if too many speakers2_bing.gif are connected to any of the outputs especially zone 2.
If you can remove all speaker wires and turn the unit back on. If it stays on, turn the volume down on the main zone and zone 2 if connected. Then reconnect speaker wires.

If the camera has recently been dropped you may have lens damage that is preventing it from powering up. If it hasn't been dropped your problem may be due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera and give them a full charge (assuming that you are using rechargeable batteries). This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

the problem with pioneer projection tvs is that when they made the boards they never used enough solder for the circuits and you get cracks in the runs. thats why heat and cold will effect it. I had the same problem and I took out the board and resoldered every track I could and it works good now but my remote wont work if anyone has any info or prints to this tv please post on here

Our Proxima DP5800 will not turn on with remote

First check the main switch located at the rear of the unit next to the power socket.Make sure it's turned on. Next, if the projector turns on with the power button on top of the unit, then the problem is with the remote. Replace batteries to make sure fresh ALKALINE batteries are installed correctly--the batteries must SAY alkaline on them. Ordinary carbon batteries WILL NOT WORK! Check inside the battery compartment for corrosion from a leaked battery. To actually test to see if a remote is working, you will need use of a camcorder with "night shot" or night vision capability. Turn on the camcorder and set it for night vision. From a distance of at least 8-10 feet, aim the remote at the camcorder and press a button...you will see the front of the remote light up as if it were a flashlight! That is the infrared coded light the remote produces to signal the projector. If you don't see any light, the remote is bad and will have to be replaced. If you see light, the receiver on the projector is not functioning correctly and will have to be repaired.
