Cant press anything in the sim center menu in my sidekick 2008

what u do is press menu, settings, then go to sim center, press unlock sim card, once youve done that go back to the main menu and settings, and go to network options, click scan and select manually, its gonna load for about 1-2 minutes, then a screen should come up saying at&t microcell or just at&t click set, and ur done, once youve click select wait a minute or 2 while it loads, hope this helps

once u see the 4 icons on phone load up let go than turn off and on make sure sim is oout while doin this! Damn!! Guys i Was So Pissed When This Hapened But Then i Figured This Thing Out So Um Here Is The Way To Do i Figured If i Dont Want Others nTo Feel Pissed And Bored Because They Cant Use Their Danq Phone Why Not Help Them??Enjoy!

Hello.. I live in denmark and I just got the sidekick 2008.
I bought an Isim (ver. 2) on ebay. I payed $9.
Then I put It under my non tmobile sim card and powered it up and I could se my phonebook and other stuff from my sim. But it keept saying: emergency calls only.
Then you have to put it into a nother mobile phone to get signal. Then put it back in the SK with the Isim and then it works. Just remember to update the sim and phone with the settings from your current phone company by sms. Then it wont happen again.

It worked for me. so I hope it would help others...

Here is your solution: 
Now follow these steps to a "T" don't do any shortcuts etc, this is "across the board" for all sidekicks it worked on my Sidekick Slide and on my Sidekick 2008.

1. Remove battery and the SIM card from the devise.
2. Flip the sidekick open; press and hold the letter "r" on the keypad
3. While holding the letter "r", place the battery back in the device. DO NOT INSERT SIM CARD YET.
4. The Sidekick will restart itself twice. Please make sure not to let the letter "r" go until it has fully rebooted.
5. Once it has fully rebooted, remove the battery, reinstall the SIM card and battery.
6. Power up device.
7. Once the device has fully rebooted, all prior information should be erased from the device and it should be restored back to the default factory setting.

ok u dont have to get a code on the 3 digit mian screen press menue and circle the press menue shits q then its ganna say delte evry thing press yes and ur promblems solve i had the same promblem

from the keyguard lock go to emergency calls.
after that press the:

1. menu key (top left hand corner)
2. shift
3. q

Hey. I own a Sidekick and I'm from the Philippines and you actually can use it anywhere, I figured.

Procedures:
1. Place the SIM Card and open the phone. A window will immediately appear demanding for your SIM PIN. Just press CANCEL.
2. Press Options/Menu or whatever the 3-horizontal bars on the upper left of your phone's called. Go to SETTINGS, then SIM CENTER.
3. Press Unlock SIM CARD
4. If you have a SIM PIN Code, type it. If not, just type 1234. then ENABLE. T he code won't be accepted. Press CANCEL.
5. Press CHANGE SIM PIN
6. In the Old SIM PIN, type your PIN. If you don't have one, just type 1234 again. Type 1234 for the other 2 questions.
7. SUBMIT
8. When "Waiting to register...." appears, all at once press OPTIONS, Letter L and that key on the lower right of your phone.
9. Exit
10. Go to settings again. then NETWORK OPTIONS
11. In the NETWORK SELECTION, press SCAN AND SELECT MANUALLY. Your phone will look for networks and when it's over, press DONE.

OK!

1. Insert your non-TMobile sim card 2. The phone display says "Enter the code". 3. On your Sidkick, press the "X" button. 4. You will see the menu. 5. Choose the left-up angle button. 6. Choose "setting"--->"network"--->"scan and select manually". 7. The phone will search for your network. 8. When your Sidekick finds your network, you can use the phone to make calls

with other sim cards you cant use data services...t-mobile uses different type of connection from other companies

ok the way to do it this jus lets u use text and calls i got cingular and i used my sidekick to txt and call here wat u gotta do

1. out sim card in
2. start phone
it will tell u sim card locked it needs special code(the code u get to pay for) juys exit outta that get to the main menu
3.hit the top letf menu button and go all the way down to sim center if u dont allready have a sim pin then enter a new one if u have one change it then ur phone should go from the big X to some bars and a hollow phone icon after you do that hit the menu button again and go to network options then go down and hit (SCAN AND SELECT MANULLY) then chose what ever carrier you have i have at&t so i chose it after a few seconds the hollowed out phone icone should be colored in and u can now text and call

ok dis is wat u have to do (i only tested dis on cingular or at&t waveva u call it)

1.your sim needs a password
2.turn off ur sidekick 3
3.place ur cingular card in
4.turn on sidekick 3
5.itz gunna ask you for a special code ignore it
6. go to settings den sim center
7. if ur sim lock is disabled jus enable it
8.den change ur sin pin to wateva you want
9.once u change it you will signals bars go up
10.go 2 settings network options
11. press scan scan select manually
12. select ur network
13. and datz it your sim iz workin on sidekick 3

if u turn it off u will have 2 do da same process again
