This error can't be reset, it is a repair job. The code mostly means that the carbon brushes are end of life. You can replace them yourselves with new spare parts.

The pressure chambers and side tanks are prone to clogging up, you can back flush them but with limited success. By the time you have removed and flushed them you are just as well to replace them. Also there is a corrugated pipe about 1 inch in diameter on some models running down to the sump that blocks and water will overflow from the vent on the side tank. The sides will come off, usually 2 screws down the front frame visible with the door open and one at the back. The humming you are hearing with be the drain pump running as it is thinking it is flooded as there is water in the base causing the machine to end its program and drain before its finished and showing 0.01 on the screen.

Most likely the smell is coming from a motor that is having a hard time turning, so it's overheating. Don't run it or it might catch fire!

Turn off all other breakers. And try reset again.

Turn the washer off. While off press and hold the 35 degree economy wash button. Keep it pressed while you switch the washer on. You can now by pressing the 35 degree button select the volume of the beep or continue to press it until no beep is heard and that will be it off.
