SOURCE: overheated vacuum

It normally won't over heat unless the bag is too full, the filters are clogged, or you have have a clog in the hose or down by the brush roll, the inlet may be clogged. Some will restart after a while, some others have a reset to push. If it won't power on, then you have a problem and it will have to serviced.

SOURCE: vacuum will not stay on, new bag in place and power to machine.

It sounds like you have a bad control valve. Take it to you nearest Aerus (formerly Electrolux) dealer and have them change it for you. It shouldn't be too expensive. Good Luck!!

SOURCE: Simplicity 7 Series Vacuum. Suddenly stopped.

There is a thermal reset button on your vaccum. It is on the rear of the unit, just below the attachments and next to the sticker with the serial numer etc on it. The vacuum is designed to turn itself of if too much heat gets built up to prevent it from "burning up."

SOURCE: i have a simplicity 6 series vacuum. the bag

no just on /off switch and direct power to vac motor sounds like its burned up from bag being overfilled , now you have to get to the vac motor test it with switch on to see if its getting power if so then motor is burnt.use an ohms meter for power test.

My simplicity 7200 does not have vacuum. Air comes out the front post filter area

If air is coming out of the filter air has to be going in through the suction hose but it may be restricted with a clog. Replace the bag and both filters. If it's been over six months since the belt has been changed start by changing the belt. Most of the vacuums brought to my store with the customer stating "it has no suction" actually have great suction but no agitation from the brush roll. If the belt is not turning the brush roll fast enough when vacuuming the carpets it will not even pickup lint and hair.

Sentry 3 series vacuum smelled hot, and now will not power up, changed bag (not over full)

There is a reset button on the back of the vacuum that shuts the power off if the motor gets too hot. Try pushing the little white button on the back. If it comes back on that means that there is probably a clog somewhere or the bag was too full.

I cant figure out how to put the type Z bag into my canister model Jill

you need to place it in the bag holder. It either slides or clips into the bag holder.

Hi. I purchased a Simplicity Freedom about 2 years ago. I have had it in for various repairs several times. One persistant problem that the repairman cannot seem to fix is the dirt does not fall down into...

You can let the vacuum run alittle longer so the bag fills up with air, also make sure that the bag in on correctly and you have the right bag for the unit. Let me know if this helps.

Changing the belt

My husband changed the belt on our vacuum, now the metal frame doesn't fit back on the bottom. Also, there is a small metal clip that we don't know where it belongs.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. You should check on the owner’s manual to see how it goes together or call the Simplicity customer service line listed below to see what goes where. It’s been awhile since I have worked on a simplicity vacuum. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
