I have the same problem
i use windows black 7
i solve this problem by removing any nero word from registry (u know how).
compacting registry, fix it, restrat the cpu
and then instal it again
it works
note for xp not black edition, there is stil a similar problem like u, and i think nero leave some file in windows direktori which need to be erased first before we can installed again. but the problem is i do not know the file that should be erased yet.
maybe you can share to me.
Ok, go to my computer and look for the C: drive, right click on it and go to properties. Do you have enough room for the install?
If so, shut the laptop off and disconnect the AC power and remove the battery for 3 mins.
Reinstall the battery and reattach the AC power. Boot it up and wait for all start up programs to finish. Now try the installation again.

Sorry, its on a laptop. Like I said, the software was just purchased yesterday, and as soon as this error comes up, the installer basically exits, leaving the Nero uninsatlled.
Thanks for that; unfortunately, once the laptop started up, I tried to install the program. Now I have a msg saying that it detected Nero 7 on my computer and cannot install over it. It informed me that I had to uninstall Nero 7 before putting on version 8. I tried to uninstall the program from the control panel. While windows configures Nero 7 for deletion, the windows installer stops working. (Tried this twice and stopped both times). Then I get the internal error msg that I posted previously.
When I try to uninstall from the Nero 8 program, it does nothing at all. Appreciate the help in this matter, and any help you can provide....
What are you installing this in? And is it a Desktop or Laptop?
