If my internet goes down The wifi in network settings turns to off and will not switch back to on. The only way to get back to on is to go back to original settings and go through the whole set up procedure again

I have a few thoughts.
Occasionally, for no apparent reason, the ipaq will "forget" your password. Try re-entering it.
The other option is to try a program called Kasuei Hitchhiker. It is a more powerful and easier to understand interface than the normal ipaq one. you can download it here.

Hope it goes well! I'll try again if this does not work!
SOURCE: nokia 770 internet settings....
hello there! thanks for using Fixya.com!
Setting up a wireless connection is easy. The Connection Manager searches for any wireless networks within range and displays their signal strength, and whether the networks are encrypted. The 770 supports both WEP and WPA encryption, so provided you know the network key, it can connect to any wireless network.
When it's out of range of a network, the Nokia can connect to your mobile phone using Bluetooth, letting you browse the Internet over GPRS.
Once you've exchanged Bluetooth passkeys with your phone, you have to manually enter your network provider's GPRS settings into the 770. This has the potential to be a real pain in the neck, but fortunately the 770's mobile settings wizard already knows GPRS settings for the major mobile networks, which takes much of the pain out of the process.
Loading Web pages over GPRS is far slower than over a wireless network, but it's quick enough to look up the occasional bit of information and certainly fast enough to send and receive e-mails.
Hope this will help you!

Great job on trying to reset the printer's wireless network adapter. Somehow, the printer's memory is stuck to thinking to connect to a wireless network when it's not communicating at all. Unplug the power adapter from the printer. The power adapter is the rectangular black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached. Wait at least 30 seconds before plugging back the power adapter in the printer. That should refresh itself. If wifi light won't turn on orange after the printer's on ready, reset the wireless network adapter again. Thanks.
