Microsoft wireless mouse 3000; put in new battery, still nothing

I've had this mouse for a few months, so, knowing it took batteries, I changed it out yesterday, and it did nothing. Trying the connect button that plugs in to the usb port with the new battery in, the usb flashes the green light, and than pressing the connect button on the mouse itself, nothing happens. I've took the battery out at least 3 times, looking inside where the battery goes, it looks ok, nothings out of place. Plugging the usb port in, pressing connect, and than on the mouse again, still, nothing happens. Any one have an ideas or can solve this for me, I'd greatly apperciate it!.

Nikcorra2488,

try this: plug in the USB key & check for the green light. Then go to start, control panel, & double click mouse (with whatever mouse works). Check the hardware tab and see it the computer is recognizing that the mouse is there. If it is there, it should be working fine. If not, then perhaps you need to reinstall the USB port drivers. Sometimes this will happen when you've upgraded from 1.0 to 2.0 USB ports.

Hope this helps.

Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000 not working

I suggest you do the following. After having synchronized both connecting buttons in mouse and receiver, take off battery and next look for a tiny thin button that protrudes from one of the sides where the receiver is placed in mouse, hold it depressed and put back a new and fresh battery releasing simultaneously this button. Mouse would work correctly. Good luck!!! Chawah.

Microsoft wireless mouse 3000; put in new battery, still nothing

Your problem lies only in mouse. All procedures followed are correct, but take a close look at the bottom of mice where the receiver is placed when not in use, look for a tiny thin button that protrudes from one of the sides, it has to be depressed while receiver is out, it might be stuck, try to press it down gently a couple of times, it must come out. If it doesn't work, take off battery, now press down mentioned button and release it immediately upon inserting back the battery. Hope will work ok. Good luck!! Chawah.

Mouse only works for a few seconds and then stops.

have you changed the batteries recently? Wireless mice seem to eat batteries faster. I have a Dell wireless mouse. It will work fine for months and then nothing. That's when I know to change out the batteries. If your batteries are fresh, make sure they are seated in their slots securely.

MS wireless notebook mouse 3000 not working?

A friend of mine brought me this problem with exactly the same problem. here is what I found. The small notch in usb device socket under the mouse was malfunctioning. If you press this notch you will find the mouse red light blink. If you further try pressing this notch at some point the mouse red light comes on constantly. Thats it, hold it there and try to connect first by pressing the usb device connect switch and then the mouse connect switch. The moment the connection is made the usb device stops blinking and the red light on the mouse starts blinking. Wow, it works now. Some one might just open the mouse and fix this microswtich for a permanent solution.
