My child's leapfrog 2 thinks the batteries are flat. I put in new batteries, it comes on briefly, goes red with the 'flat battery' sign, then switches off. It was bought brand new, and worked well.

If the battery is not holding charge try draining the battery until it cuts out, after that put it on charge but don't turn the machine on while it finishes charging, this may well charge the battery to 100% as it is supposed to

You blew the circuit board by putting to much power into it. Never use more power then suggested for this reason. All adaptors have a volt and an amp rating. Sorry it happend best wishes!

yes there should be two parts. First there is the actual computer and the second is the base (where the games are connected to). The television should be set where you would usually watch a dvd/or play  a game(depending on what model tv) the computer is wireless so you can use it from the sofa etc. but you must have the base in order for the game to work. I just purchased one and my son loves it.

This happened with the first Didj we bought. Struggled to open the battery case with the stupid recommended dime. [Use a screwdriver instead - better able to push down the lever inside the case.] The 1st Didj never turned on. Totally dead. Exchanged it. The second Didj was easier to open compartment to install batteries and turned on immediately. Reommend you take it back.

Hi louconn,

Changing the battery will not really resolve the issue. It has something to do with the inside part of the toy. The most likely cause o f this are tabs that are pressed down or half pressed down. There are six per spot, which is how the system recognizes each letter. But since this is new. I would highly recommend that you send it back so you can a replacement.
