/D OFF Indicator
The instrument cluster receives the O/D OFF indicator status from the PCM over the communication network. When the overdrive function is turned off, the PCM sends a command to the instrument cluster to turn on the O/D OFF indicator. Could be a wiring problem . Did you check the solenoid A wiring circuit back to the PCM ?
the hum worries me, from your discription sounds like a wash motor may be bad, or something is blocking the pump from turning, unless your are really handy, i suggest you call for service. Sears offers what they call and SSA on their 800 # if you buy the SSA it will include the repair you need and a 1 yr warranty. good luck
