SOURCE: Changed Cap,rotor, plugs and wiring. Car running

look on the intake manifold its usually stamped there, or go to the library and look in a Chilton"s auto manual it'll be in there,is your timing chain still ok??? it hasn't jumped, which would mess up timing...some chains were a hard nylon gear in those years and can wear out and the chain can jump and throw timing off too

SOURCE: A/C FAN ONLY OPERATES IN LOW SPEED

It is either the switch,or the motor ,the motor is designed to have the speeds in it it self, but check the voltage on high, from the switch to the motor,if there is voltage, the motor is the problem.

SOURCE: need wiring diagram

You can usually obtain a wiring diagram 'online' just by typing in the brand of AC you have and going to a site that has Dometic AC's. Of course you will need the Model # after you get there - but I don't see you having much problem chasing down a wiring diagram after some investigation on the web.

As to wiring the motor separate. Sure, you can run a separate electrical line (needs to on a breaker to handle the amps) just for the fan, but the problem would be 'cycling' the fan. For example: presently your fan goes 'on and off' by the thermostat. But if you wire your fan on a separate circuit - you would need a way to cycle it - and you would want to cycle it with the rest of your AC. You could always install a 'on/off' switch somewhere in the RV where you could manually turn it on and off - but I would think that would be more trouble than it was worth.

What you would need to do - is to wire the motor into a separate "relay" which would be controlled by your thermostat. Here is where it get's "sticky" cause you need to know a little about electricity in order to make sure you - dot all the i's and cross all the t's.

If you are pretty good with electricity then you should be able to get a 'relay' where the 'coil' (in the relay) is the same voltage as your thermostat - and then wire the relay so it will (via the thermostat) control the "line voltage" to the fan.

If you are not (good with electricity) I would obtain the help (hire someone if you have to) of someone to assist me.

Even if you have to pay someone - you're looking at a small outlay of money. I would venture to guess - parts and labor of $150 if he/she is fair.

hope this helps

NEED HELP TO REPLACE WIRES ON CAPACITOR ON GE ROOM AIR CONDITIONER 8000 BTU

with capacitors it doesn't matter which wire goes on which terminal
if it has just 2 terminals then a wire on each
if it has 4 terminals then one wire on one set and the other wire on the other set
A set is two terminals side by side
However if you are still undecided , get an electrician to fit the wires.

Have tri zone 36k elect. 230/208 we only have 115/230 the connection says line ground natural thats 115, were do I hook the other 115 to get 230.

Hi, I am not quite sure of what kind of set-up you are saying you have when you say it says line ground natural? If you have a 115/230 volt power supply, this should be very easy to tie into. Look at the wiring diagram on the new unit real good and locate the 2- hot wires that should say line one or L-! and L-2. Your 230 volt wires will connect one to each side of those 2 connections, and will have a ground wire that grounds to a metal lug or screw on the unit. Look over the diagram for field wiring connections for high voltage and this will tell you where you need to hook your 230 volt wires and ground to. If this new unit is 208/230 volts, you should have connections like I have said either L-1 or t-1 and L-2 or T-2 that you will tie in your 230 volts to. Just look over the diagram and you will see where the beginning of the 2 hot wires come into the unit. There should be either 2 good sized black hot wires that are for your incoming hot wires to connect to, or they are already connected to the contactor, and you will need to connect yours to the line side of the contactor. I see what you are saying now, that they are only showing you 1- 115 volt connection to the new unit so you will have only 115 volts to run it. You want to know where the other 115 volt conductor hooks up for 230 volts. This is why you need to look at the schematic and wiring diagram that shows both of the 208/230 volt connections on this new unit so you can connect both hot wires to it. I can't pull up a picture of this on the Internet, but it will show you on the schematic on where they connect. This line ground neutral connection sounds as though its not for a hot wire, but for your ground, or if you happen to have a neutral wire that is being used for a ground. Please keep looking for the 2- line in connections as this is what you will need to find and where both 115 volt wires connect. They are your line voltage wires, so they need to connect to the load voltage hot wires at the L-1 and L-2 connections of this unit. This should be fairly laid out for you, but sounds like they have made it difficult? Look for what I have said and the schematic drawing and you will find the connections. Please don't forget to rate me as I know you will be kind. I will be checking back with you as I keep all of your information on file so I can look you back up if I need to. You can contact me by my user name below if you need me also. I wish you the best and follow my instructions and I know you will get it right.

Do no what wires go where on the capacitor for our carrier a/c unit

Some capacitor start motors have two brown leads (one with white stripe) that go to capacitor. Others wire into the start winding, if that is the case follow wiring diagram on the motor. Also if this is in an A/C unit follow the wiring diagram in the unit (usually on inside of cover)

Circuit breaker

Happy to assist,

HOW MANY BTU IS THE AIR CONDITIONER?
And is it 110 or 220 line!

If it is using 110 or 115 volts like normal house current and it throws circuit breakers in your electric box, then you need to run a dedicated line just for the Air Conditioner!
Usually this happens to 110 -115 volt air-conditioners that are more than 12,000 BTU and do not have a dedicated electric line in the wall only for the air conditioner!

New air conditioners have a circuit breaker built into the units plug!
And I have seen some that throw that breaker to off frequently even if it's only an electric surge! Which it should not do!
if its the case and it's new, take it back to the store and ask for a different model, size, or brand!
Fedders had an 18,000 BTU/ 110-115 volt unit that did this with every single unit last year! I stopped selling that unit only!!

I am a ac tech, and i was working on a old carrier unit, wich had no schematic diagram. I need it in order to get the compressors going. if i give you a model # can you please provide one. roof top ac...

you aren't an ac tech number one but i shall overlook that . your question is llike will the sun come up in the north or the south tomorrow. obviously in the east as it has since the earth was created. anyway. all compressors since the beginning of time wire up the same .a wire commonly referred to as the common goes from the contactor to the compressor. usually black in color, hence the old coloqualism Blacks are common. the run wire is from the contactor to the run side of the run capacitor or from the contactor to the run connection on the compressor. hence the old slogan reds run when you point a gun at them. the only wire left is the start wire that come from the start capacitor and is usually yellow . hence the old saying blacks are common, reds run, and yellows are always starting something. very ethnic i know but thats how i was taught.now that the wirings correct check to see volts through contactor are correct and if one side of contactor is not feeding. if volts good then check capacitors with a cap checker. if all else looks good kill power and inspect compressor terminals at compressor. if burned off consider a termilock kit good luck..

Need a replacement thru the wall ac unit for model ajch10acm1, 115 v, 15 amp 9600 btu.

Measure the cabinet dimensions. then best place to check for replacement is Home Depot ,Lowe's, sometimes Sams Club, B.J.'s or Cosco these places buy in large volume and are hard to beat when it comes to price. The 115 volt units go up to 12,000 BTU. which is one ton. If you hit at the right time of year I,ve seen a/c units around 6,000 btu sold for as low as $69.00.
Shop around most all brands are about the same. Cost is based on the number of bells and whistles you want. The most simple units cost the least also the less that can go wrong. I have found it really hard to find exact demention replacements.
