SOURCE: about 6 months ago i had installed the mtx

good morning and welcome to fixya. not a bad setup you have here at all, you ned to start by checking the speaker wires inside the box to the connector inside and then the wires from connector to amp on outside. if everything looks fine there, then you need to check the amp for power out of the rca plugs to make sure the channel is not dead. if you are looking for a new amp you can try several different ones from fosgates new line up to soundstream's. im running 4 polk momo 12's on the tarantula amp and love it. they are great amps. hifonics also has a new line up pretty cool stuff, heard really good things about there stuff to. good luck and let me know so i can help you out.

SOURCE: i have one mtx t4510-04..what amp do you

Hello jandytaala,

The recommended power range for you T4510-04 is 112.5 to 225 watts RMS. So you need a monoblock amp within that range. You could go up to about 300 watts RMS, but watch the gain and don't try to get too much from a single 10" sub.

The Orion Cobalt shown here would be a good match and is only $139.99. For another $60, the Alpine MRP-M500 will output 300 watts into 4 ohms.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: can you run two mtx 6500d amps in parallel for

Not suggested to parallel the output of two amps. Instead take each amp, find out what the amps lowest impedance it can drive is and select your speakers based on that. According to MTX these are stable down to 2 ohms without a rated output power of 500Watts X 1. If you get two dual voice coil subwoofers with each coils characteristic impedance of 4 ohms, when you parallel the two coils you will get a 2 ohm load. Just maek sure the speaker can handle the 500 watts.

SOURCE: my mtx thunder 6500d amp

Make sure you have a proper ground wire connection. The ground wire should be connected solidly to the vehicle chassis in a paint-free location. If it is loose or there is paint t the connection site, you will have problems with the amp output. Also check the speaker wires to see if they are touching the vehicle chassis. This will cause a short circuit and you will not have output from the amp. Finally, check the leads from the head unit. They should be RCA cables, and should have a good connection to the amp.

Any sub's I hook my mtx jackhammer jh1200 up to instantly are forced down and eventually fry. Why is my amp doing this?

This problem is caused by one or more of your output devices (FET, Transistor, or IC) is shorted and causing the power rail to be connect through your speaker. Your amp boosts the 12v supply to a much higher +/- voltage rail which powers the amp's outputs. When the amp is shorted or overheated to a point of destruction you can end up with this problem.

It will need to be repaired by a technician.
