Most problems will be overcome by reading and absorbing the instruction manual.

Assuming the telescope is in good order, it must first be pointed at a light source using the spotter scope and then aligned using the lowest power eyepiece before fitting the high powered eyepiece...

You also should be in very low light conditions.

Objects in the night sky are tiny. The scope must be pointed accurately or you will not see anything. Find a local astronomy club and have the members help you.

Image is upside down in Celestron PowerSeeker 114AZ telescope

That's because this telescope is what's called a reflector. The image in reflector telescopes are upside down. This isn't an issue since reflectors are designed for looking at the night sky.

4500 orbitor telescope

Download the manual in the link below. It is for the Orbitor 6000 which is a 6" Netownian Reflector telescope on an equatorial mount. Your telescope may have a Alta-Zimuth (AZ) mount instead, then click on the second link for the Celestron 114AZ. Although the telescopes are different from yours, the basic parts are very much similar and these manuals could be of help to you.

Celestron Nexstar 114gt telescope, hand controller lights up only

Do you have a fresh set of batteries in the scope? Better to use an outside 12 volt power pack with the Celestron 12 volt "cigarette" lighter cable.

This can be three things:

Low power

Bad cable from hand controller to scope.

Or a broken hand controller

Try fresh batteries first.
