Question about The Health & Beauty

1 Answer

You are stranded on an island with limited space and have to grow your own food. You have seeds for growing corn and wheat. You also have a few pigs and cows. What will you chose to grow for food?

I'm learning about food energy and basically it wants to know which to choose like if I chose wheat with the pigs would the cows be able to eat the pigs to get more food that will last longer. It will be very helpful if you can give me your opinions.

I think I'd grow corn because you, the pigs and cows can all eat it. Wheat of course can be eaten by cows with their specialised stomachs, but offers little nutritional value to you and the pigs without a lot of processing.

How do I keep squirrels from eating my sunflowers?

Give the squirrels another source of feed/seeds.

1.Give the squirrels their own feed away from the location to which you will be growing the sunflowers.

2.Do this before growing the sunflowers. This will get the squirrels in a pattern and to a location away from your sunflowers.

3.Keep the squirrel food container (s) full at all times. If thesquirrels are full they will not have reason to eat the sunflower seeds.

Squirrels would rather eat peanuts, seeds, oats, breads, and/or what ever you want to give them over your sunflower seeds.

** To get the old squirrels away from a location they occupy now, is to train them away from it.**

Gradually move their food source away from any location they go to now.

Once you have them following the food, keep moving it until the foodsourced is in a location you would prefer the squirrels to go to forfood, rather than the squirrels eating your sunflowers....

Good Luck!

Growing indoor avocado tree from seed

Make sure it doesn't stand in water, don't give it too much. Moist is OK, but it needs to all drain out. Also, don't let soil cover the top of the seed area. Mulch on top is OK, but not right over the base.

Did you overspray? I'd rework the soil. Also depends on where you live. Are you starting from seed or seedlings? So many factors, need more information.

How need in the soil should I plant parsley seeds?

Parsley seeds should be planted shallowly, under a light bed of moist soil. I put mine down only about 1/4 of an inch. They will start sprouting within about a week.
