-You mean the ignition key is lock. So you can't turn the key to start right...?

Try this:

Insert the key into the key slot. then turn the steering left untill can't turn and hold there then turn the key. If it doesn't work then turn the other way and hold then turn the key. You should be able to turn the key like normal.

Good luck

Mai

Ignition lock cylinder

Many times a cylinder will not turn when the steering wheel lock has pressure against it from the steering wheel. Wiggle the steering wheel while trying to turn the cylinder. If this is not the issue, the cover surrounding the steering column will have to be removed to access the cylinder.

2005 Pontiac G6 wont turn ignition cylinder with key. Tried to move shifter back and forth , pressed brake pedels , emergency brake. Still nothing. I am thinking its a locksmith issue. Any ideas? Thanks.

Try turning the steering wheel from side to side as you turn the key.I know there isnt really any wiggle room in the steering now,but you don't need to actually move the wheel very far, you are just putting enough weight on the wheel to take the load off of the steering wheel locking mechanism which is in a bind right now.

Ignition locked up

I have seen this compaint many times, it is caused by the lock pins getting broken or jammed, you will have to replace the ignition lock cylinder to repair this.
