I've has the connection from the hose/cooker tightened which got rid of gas leak showing on a meter. Still smells. No leak at bayonet. Should I replace the 9 year old hose on Leisure 101 Cookmaster.

Would be a safe action as hoses perish and leak
if the smell persists get in a gas fitter with a sniffer meter to find the leak

Testimonial: "Thanks Bill. I'll get a new hose fitted. Didn't know about gas sniffers so will look into that if needed."

Reh 252uc - Service or Replace? Smell gas when turned off....

You may have a small gas leak. Use a water sprayer with dish soap mixed with water and spray the gas fittings. If bubbles develop, you have a leak. Careful not to spray any electronics!

Gas smell

This is a common problem with the rubber fuel lines on the injector rails and the lines coming to and from the fuel filter that is attached to the driver side strut tower. Tighten the clamps as far as you can. If that doesn't fix / stop the leaks, you may need to check hoses one by one and maybe replace hoses that are soft or brittle or not tightening properly. There may be a Subaru recall on the fuel injection rail connections, in which case the fix is free. If not, high-pressure fuel line hose isn't expensive if from a parts store. This problem usually shows up when it gets real cold outside, like 10 degrees or colder.

Weber grill replaced hose because of faulty regulator had smelled gas and low cook temp. grill is 4 to 5 yrs old. Connected new hose did soapy water thing no leaks at hose connects. Still smell gas when...

Lisa, when you conducted the soapy water test, how long did you leave the soapy water on each fitting, before you determined there were no leaks? Sometimes, it can take 5 minutes or more for a leak to show up. You should also soap text the tank valve itself.

If no burners were ON when you tested for leaks (and apparently didn't find any), the problem still lies in the Hose/Regulator assembly connections or the tank valve, When you test the tank valve, do it after the valve has been opened very, very slowly (Slow motion, slow).

Hope this helped you to further troubleshoot and solve the problem

I have a Honda 2001 with P1456. I smell some gas. need help findind solution. I did tighten the gas cap. Thought of replacing gas cap. Any suggestion?

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!

Well the smell could be due to numerous reasons, that might be due to loose cap, in most cases, it is due to leaking gas carriage lines, pipes, hoses...or leaking gas tank, or even due to faulty gas tank drain nut. Make sure, all the gas carriage lines are intact and are isolated/sealed.
Concerned.

There is a strong smell of gas from my cooker, pipe from cyclinder to cooker appears ok , new world 55wlg

Do not light anything if you are smelling gas. Make up a soapy solution in a spray bottle and apply to all connections and look for bubbles. Most common place to leak is hook-up at cylinder and hook-up at cooker. If you can't find the leak and continue to smell gas, do not use it. Also make sure your cylinder is not empty.

I have a cooker with a bayonet fitting that wan't connect the the wall because the wall has a screw fitting what part do i need to connect the cooker to this ?

Hello,
You need to check with your hardware store and get a fitting compatible with your fitting on the stove. This will have to be fitted to the wall pipe but I stress that this should only be carried out by a registered gas fitter.

Hope this helped.

Need to know if my cooker is a bayonet fitting

the bayonet fitting is on the end of the gas pipe that plugs into the gas main. look at the back of your cooker follow the black pipe you will see a brass end that fit to the solid gas pipe if you have a ring on the end of you flexible pipe that you can push in slightly and turn to disconnect you have a bayonet. its not the cooker that is a bayonet but the flexy pipe that is connected to your cooker. you can add one if one not fitted
