Details of how to update your maps are at http://www.fixya.com/support/r5628920-update_garmin_satnav_maps
The only difference in updating when you have a lifetime map update is that when you click on GET MAP you are taken to the download screen instead of the payment screen.

SOURCE: Garmin 1450t stuck in loader loading error after downloading maps

Please follow the instructions below to remove the "Loader Loading" message from the unit.

To fix this problem on Windows:

  1. With the nuvi powered off, press and hold the upper left hand corner of the touchscreen with your finger
  2. Continue to hold the touchscreen while pressing and releasing the power button on the device. The Garmin Logo should display
  3. Continue to hold the touchscreen while connecting the device to your computer
  4. After 30 seconds, the screen should flash white. At this point, release the touchscreen. A green progress bar should display on the device. After the progress bar completes (45-60 seconds), the device should go into Mass Storage mode
  5. Open the nuvi drive that appears in My Computer or Computer
  6. Locate the Voice folder and delete the extra Voice files that are not needed
  7. Type ".System" (without quotations) after the nuvi's letter in the address bar
    • For example, if your nuvi appears as E:\ then after typing ".System" in the address bar, it should look like this: E:\.System
  8. Locate the GUPDATE.GCD file and delete it
  9. Safely remove your device from your computer
After the corrupted update file has been removed, the device should work properly. Run the WebUpdater program to update the device's operating software.

To fix this problem on a Mac:

  4. After 30 seconds the screen should flash white. At this point, release the touchscreen. A green progress bar should display on the device. After the progress bar completes (45-60 seconds), the device should go into Mass Storage mode
  5. Open the nuvi drive that appears on the Desktop
  6. Locate the Voice folder and delete the extra Voice files that are not needed
  7. Click the GO menu at the top of the computer screen
  8. Click Go to Folder
  9. Type .System
  10. Click Go
  11. Locate the GUPDATE.GCD file and move it to your trash
  12. Empty the trash
  13. Eject the nuvi from the Mac

SOURCE: how can I update lifetime maps to 1350

Contact Garmin directly---I have seen this many times on several brands, it means they are available but may not end up being free.

How do I set up a Navman EZY 15 for UK use?

Not for that model. You can for others, you buy the UK map. I recommend the Garmin Drive 50 for the UK. I bought one for a friend in the UK and bought one for me here in Canada.

I am trying to update my Navman Move 50 purchased in 2015. It was sold with a free lifetime update but the dealer went bust. Can I get a free update outside of Navman who want $100 for one!

looks like the dealer was offering a shonky lifetime update or the manufacturer would be honoring the deal
take the details to a lawyer and see who is being having a lend of you
it is possible that the manufacturer is seeing it as an opportunity to not fulfil the deal

Hi, hav a garmin nuvi. Has Garmap Africa series 2008 March edition. Is it possible to update the SD card via a free download. Tnx

For maps that came with a Garmin GPS - a map can be updated for free within 60 days after purchase. The purchase date is recorded after registering the device at MyGarmin.com or when the GPS detects movement above a certain speed. If the GPS is purchased with lifetime updates - it will be free throughout the lifetime of the Garmin GPS.

Just see what happens when registering the device at MyGarmin.com. A map update will show when there's one available for your Map version.

How do i upgrade my navman sat nav with new roads and it used to warn me when speed cameras were present but does not now

Map updates are usually NOT free. Some manufacturers allow for a "one time update" within 30 days of purchase - to ensure the owner of the latest maps. Other than that, there are three models out there.

One is a the purchase of individual map sets for the geographical area of interest for a modest fee. nearly all manufacturers offer this type of update. In return, a disk containing a program to update the maps in the GPS is run on your computer while the GPS is connected via USB cable or serial cable. You might even end up maps preloaded on a removable memory card. Simply inserting the card into the slot on some GPS units will allow the the GPS to use the new maps on the card instead of those installed on the internal memory of the GPS (if the memory card is removed, the GPS uses the old internal maps).

The second model is a map subscription service (Garmin and a few others) that allows for the download of new mapsets as they become available (2 or more times per year) to your computer. This is done on older models (those sold before lifetime maps were offered) or if it is determined that buying updates one at a time will be too costly, after purchasing the GPS. Running the download with the GPS connected to the computer will update the internal maps of the GPS - just like the disk method. The subscription service costs more than buying a single update disk, but is often less than the cost of 2 update purchases. The subscription lasts a predetermined amount of time, or in many cases, "for the life of the GPS".

The last is similar to the subscription method above, only that you purchase the GPS with lifetime map subscription built in to the cost of the GPS. Included in the GPS package are instructions on how to go about starting the subscription and installing the maps - the same instructions are included with the purchase of a subscription after purchasing the GPS.

One place that sells maps for the Navman brand GPS can be found at http://www.activegps.co.uk/navman-maps.htm You may also find them available for sale in retail outlets that sell the Navman GPS devices, too.

Speed or "Safety" cameras and Red Light Camera locations are often offered as a subscription, due to the not necessarily permanent placement of these devices. Some manufacturers offer this, while others do not. Third party providers have stepped up to fill the void created by those that do not offer this information. I found these sites that have this data available:

http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras-navman.php
http://www.speedcamerasuk.com/speed-camera-database.htm

There may be others that cost less or are even free. Keep in mind that maintaining this database can be difficult, so the free databases are more likely to have erroneous information in them when compared to those databases that charge for access.

I hope this was a good starting pint for you and helped. Please rate my reply - thanks!

The maps for Australia are distributed Via Navman and are Polstar. But no other maps for other brands aree compatible as they are all re jigged to only work o0n the brand of GPS's format.

Navman is distributed via **** Smith and Harvey Norman So if you dont get satisfaction from the Navman site ask the satff at one of these distributors how to purchase new maps.
