Remove front panel on ge washer

How do I remove the front panel on my washer? I moved it last night and it rained. Sounds like water is inside the machine, not in the tub. How do I remove the front panel to check and see if there is water inside the housing?

Use a putty knife and press in the panel clips located on the top left and right sides where the front panel meets the top lid. They are about 3 inches in from each side.Press on the clips while pulling forward on the front panel.

House fuse blew last night

Plastic lead inside front of soap dispenser unlocks door.
Remove front panel, undo top panel & lift up, check wax motor (red / brown unit above / top of door), usually burnt out taking control board with it. If you are going to repair fit 5 amp fuse in line with wax motor or fit later model door lock mechanism.

Water leaking during wash cycle. How do you get access to inside

I use a putty knife about 2" inward , between the top and the front panel on each side . Give a good hit on one side while slightly pulling the front panel forewafd . Then do the other side . The front panel tilts foreward and hinges on the bottom with tabs . Then lift to remove .

How do i remove the front to check or replace belt

If you need an owner's manual see this site.

Unless GE has changed in recent years the motor and transmission can be serviced from the rear of the washer. GE engineering did not have a front service panel when I serviced them. Belts usually last a long time, look for a bound water pump or other problems.

Kenmore 80 series wont stop filling up with water

There is an air line inside the machine... one side is attached to the outer tub... the other side is attached to the water level switch in the control panel... remove the face of the control panel, and see that the clear air hose is attached to that switch... if it's attached there then you'll need to remove the front panel and lid sections of the machine and check to see that it's attached to the tub... i've also seen on a few occasions the air line get clogged so if it is attached then disconnect one side and make sure you can blow through it... if it's attached at both ends and you get good airflow then the switch is bad... lemme know if you have more questions

Ac making noise

sounds like the drain is clogged, it usually comes out if the outside of the unit just below the coil in the middle of the back, there may or may not be a hose attached to the front pan below the evaporator, try pressuring it up to blow it out. worst case you may have to remove from the window, disassemble and clean. hope this helps...

Drain pump/motor not draining.

actually it sounds like there was or is something in the water pump (like a string or metal underwire from a bra). before replacing the water pump i would look inside it and check for foreign objects.
  1. unplug the machine, but leave other hoses connected
  2. use a butter knife or putty knife to open the front panel; at the top seam between the top panel and the front panel is 2 metal clips (about where the edges of the lid are). push these strait in to release the front panel.
  3. once the front panel is off then you should see the water pump on the right side. it has 2 large black hoses and 2 wires attached to it.
  4. take off the water pump (two 3/8 bolts) and look inside it.
