Press the CA button twice. Then push and hold down the %/set key until the 0 disappears and reappears. Then type in your tax rate and the percent key (eg: 8.25%) and then press the TAX+ key. It should save the new tax rate. Posted on Feb 25, 2008
Try to use the AC adapter and plug it to your household current and the calculator and the "E" should go away! Not sure if it's the batteries or just what? It happened to me and that's how I solved that problem! Good luck, let me know!

press AC while holding AC press SET/% while holding SET/% release AC your screen should read SET on top now press TAX+(TAX RATE) enter tax rate 6.25 then press the SET% again, you just changed your tax rate

Found this on the casio site worked fine on my ms-120TE 1. Press [AC] 2. Hold [SET/%] key for about 2 seconds until set and a 0 is displayed 3. Press [TAX+] 4. Input the tax rate 5. Press [SET/%]
