SOURCE: how do you remove the jets on an american standard whirlpool tub

The jets have a nut on the back of the jet. I hope you have access or else you will need to pull the tub for this job. Loosen the nut and squeeze aquarium grade silicone in between the tub wall and the nut, Tighten the nut, but not to tight. Let set over night fill and check for leaks the next day.

Have an American standard whirlpool tub. the on/off button is stuck on on. now the only way to shut the jets off is to flip the breaker to the bathroom. how do I fix this

This sounds like the air switch in the motor is not working properly. You will need to remove the pump from under the tub to access the air switch located in a housing on the motor.
Replacement Air Switch will cost you about $20

American standard jet bath tub black particles coming out of jets

The problem you are experiencing is common to many jetted bathtubs. It is a result of dried bathing water in the tub. There are a couple of solutions to resolve this ongoing problem.
  1. Use your tub more frequently as the water will not have time to fester in the pipes.
  2. Use a cleaning solution made for cleaning the pipes on jetted bathtubs once every three months.

How to remove jet rings on jetted tub

It depends on the brand of jet and tub, if it is a gold or silver trim ring, they will generally pry off with a screwdriver, just be careful not to damage the tub when doing so. When prying, move the screwdriver around the jet an inch at a time, just like opening a can of paint. Some rings will screw on, but most just pry off.

Please help me I have a American Standard whirlpool tub. I have flakes coming outta the tub when the water level reaches the jets.I have bleached the tub turned the jets on, drained the tub and did the...

Are they white flakes? Sounds like you have lime deposits turning loose in the plumbing.

Was the unit purchased and installed new? Maybe the privious owner had a hard water problem.

In either case, you may have to invest in a water softener.
