I'm looking for lithium battery 3.7V-1050Ah)for Hitachi camera HDC831ER. The local camera shop does not stock or deal with Hitachi.I'm looking for battery number so I can look on line. Thanks

You didn't say where "locally" is, so it is more difficult to help you. Since the camera can be powered several ways, I am not sure which battery you are using. However, since the camera will work on 2 AA lithium or Ni-MH batteries, I would suggest that you go to the nearest Ritz Camera shop and buy a charger/batteries package of AA Ni-MH batteries and a charger and you are set to go. These are very common and can be found at a lot of stores. If you already have the charger for these or another type of battery, just take a battery with you to Ritz Camera or Wolfe Camera and they will sell you a replacement.
it may not be the camera's. Some retail stores do not rotate their stock....in other words you may be purchasing an old battery. Check the dates on the package. My suggestion to you is to buy your batteries at a camera shop.
Unfortunately that part is listed as no longer available. Your only recourse at this point is to call local service shops that deal with Hitachi and see if they have one in stock. Thay may have access to a used one as well. New, these went for $280 or so.
