Based on the symptoms you have described, it's possible that there may be an issue with the power switch, the motor, or the circuit board of your Bernina Activa 130 sewing machine.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
Check the power cord and connections: Ensure that the power cord is securely plugged into the machine and the outlet. Check for any frayed or damaged wires in the power cord or connections, as this could cause the machine to not turn on.
Check the power switch: Inspect the power switch for any damage or debris that may be preventing it from functioning correctly. You can also try pressing and holding the power switch for a few seconds to see if it turns on the machine.
Check the motor: If the motor is not functioning correctly, it may prevent the machine from turning on. Try turning the handwheel manually to see if it turns smoothly. If it doesn't, the motor may be the issue.
Check the circuit board: A faulty circuit board can also cause the machine to not turn on. If you're comfortable with electronics, you can try inspecting the circuit board for any visible damage or loose connections. However, if you're not familiar with electronics, it's best to take the machine to a qualified technician for repair.
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's best to take your sewing machine to a qualified technician or a Bernina service center for further diagnosis and repair.
The Bernina Patchwork 140 does not do embroidery from a file (either built-in or external). You can do some free-hand embroidery by lowering the feed dogs. Depress the feed dog position button on the right hand side of the machine. It's below the balance dial and between the foot control socket and the power cord socket.
I hope this helps. ManualsLib has the manual for the Bernina 140; it's a shared manual with the Activa 130 and 131.
Please be advised that the newer machines (Classic models) such as the 130-180 and up, have a totally different geometry. This is to say that the older machines have a shorter distance from the center of the presser bar to the needle center. The newer machine design was increased to provide space for needle threaders etc. Older machines will use an older Walking foot model (still available).
there are Bernina manuals as pdf's on their website, www.bernina.com, then go to Support, choose your manual in the drop down box and download it. There is not one there for the Activa 130 but the 135 is there and the 125, both will be very close to your mode. link is http://www.bernina.com/en-AU/Support/Machines/BERNINA-activa-135
Turn your on/off switch to off, unplug from the machine, wait 30 seconds and plug cord back into machine, then into socket. Turn your on button on. See if this will reset it. Be sure to turn any lights off when in the off position.
Do you mean Bernina Activa 130?

- see internet for "where can I purchase ..."
Unfortunately this is a purchase site. The closest I could get would be for an Activa 220 230 240 . You can download the manual. Check the picture on no. 7 and see if this isn't your machine.
