How do you remove the handle of a Stihl 017 chainsaw?

It seems to be a single wraparound piece with no screws?

On the right hand side of the handle there are 3 plastic plugs covering the screws that go through the anti-vibration bushings

Not helpful. Rubber plugs are held in by friction, not screws. Remove chain cover, take off chain and bar. Prise out 3 plugs that lock the rubber mountings. Remove trigger cover on handle, release spring and remove, pull off trigger and disconnect throttle link from trigger and throttle body. You may need to remove air filter box to get at throttle body. Now lever out the three rubber bushes from holes in metal body of saw, top first, rear second , front third. Turn and twist handle frame to release and remove. Replacement is the reverse procedure.

Chainsaw blade rotating when idling

Could be dirt in the carb or a dirty air filter. A good clean is in order I think!

Stihl ms660 ilde chain speed to fast

Somewhere on the carb linkage you will see a set screw touching it. Turn the screw so it does not push the linkage so far.

Have a lose wire on a stihl 021 chainsaw by air filter but don,t know where it goes to

It probably goes to the ground on the choke lever. Remove the air filter and look at the area where the shut off switch is located, you should see a small slot where the wire slides in and connects with a metal piece in the stop position.

How do you replace spur sprocket on a 038ab stihl chaninsaw? how do you remove the sprocket that is over to the right of the spur sprocket?

To remove the sprocket on this saw you must remove the oiler gear that sits in the way. Remove the mounting screws for the oiler gear plate and you are home free.
I hope it helps

look for parts at a local dealer like www.arcolawn.com
