If the sending and receiving units are going through walls or one is upstairs and the other is downstairs it may not have the range you need as walls will knock down the signal. Sounds like your right on the edge of the range maybe try to move the units closer together if possible and see what happens.

Testimonial: "While the whole purpose of the monitor is obviously camera on the baby, monitor with the adult, it doesn't seem to matter if it is next door or in another part of the house..."

I guess I missed your point as I am was of the understanding that the unit was wireless. They normally are not hard wired. Sorry but the monitor does have a range limit.

They are wireless. Monitor is "recharged" daily when baby leaves for daycare. Disappointed in performance...

If you want the signal to be strong then take the monitors back and get a remote camera installed in the room and hook it up to a monitor. This will resolve your issue.

Why does it keep "saying" out of range?

if camera and base are within a few feet of one another does it have a problem obtaining a signal (syncing ) ?? as if it works ok then there might be a object that is getting in the way of the signal , radio waves move from its transmitter (camera) towards its receiver (monitor) in a straight line , if there is too large a mass in the way then the radio wave can't penetrate it and will be "lost" also ck both the camera's and bases battery levels (if they have one) for proper peak power level , as it takes energy to drive the radio signal towards its receiver .

Why is my summer baby monitor fuzzy on night vision?

I would say that your IR sensors are burning out. Turn the lights off and look at the camera. A bunch of small red lights should be coming on . You will see which ones and how many are burned out. There are a couple of fixes but the cheapest will be a new camera.

My monitor has lost its pitcher and is saying no camera

The camera is not transmitting an RF signal to the tv, check to make sure the camera is receiving power, if okay! the camera must be dismantled to see if any wires or plugs have come loose.

Had summer baby monitor for eight months, last night it stopped

Your monitor has become unpaired with your camera. Follow the instructions in the manual to pair them again (basically, tell the monitor piece to Add New Camera while you press the Pair button on the camera). The manuals can be downloaded from www.summerinfant.com.

My summer infant video monitor's screen went blank

this just happened to mine too and i took the battery cover off and out of the handheld parent piece and put it back in, turned it on and it started working again. hopefully this is only a one time deal due to the fact that they are somewhat expensive (however the best ones supposedly) and i already replaced my first one that the screen stopped working on due to dropping it and replaced that for the little bit cheaper one and smaller one but has the talk back button. now that my daughter is getting older (16 months) i like having the option to be able to talk to her especially since i live in a 3 story house!! so anyone yea, just took battery out and put back in and seems to be working ok right now.
