SOURCE: Lights blinking and won't clear

the solution #3 should work.. you may want to try again.... first turn off the Breaker to cut power then wait a few minutes then turn back on, then within 6 seconds try (Heated dry)(normal)(heated dry)(normal).. all lights should light up then you know that you are in the service cycle, and the unit should go into a self test and clear the fault. The test take about 30 minutes. let me know if you can get into it...

SOURCE: Won't run - normal light flashes

You may try removing power to D/W for a minute and reconecting. likely cause though is keypad (console). If a light above a pad stays on the pad is likely closed all the time. Normal is probably cycle most often used. you can test the keypad by removing power to D/W and accessing the control panel. remove conncter P-1 and using an ohmeter test resistance between 13 and 4 on the connecter coming from keypad. yes without very small clips or 4 steady hands it is a little tricky. in the field we use a breakout board. if you get any reading when not pushed pad is bad. you may find a manual inside the kickplate which explains the keypad sequence. it may be control but more likely keypad, even if test is inconclusive.

SOURCE: Maytag Quiet Series dishwasher won't start

Sounds like you have a bad Control Board

http://www.partstore.com/Part/Maytag/Maytag/MDB6600AWW/Maytag/Maytag/99003160/New.aspx

But with the price it cost, you might be better off buying a new dishwasher, preferably a different brand, cause that washer has some bad reviews

How to reset Kenmore Elite 665-16572202 Dishwasher...clean light blinks 7 times pauses then repeats. My model does not have a Heated Dry button it has an Air Dry button.

Here's the key sequence(s) to use, depending on how your keys are labeled:
Heated Dry - Normal - Heated Dry - Normal; or
High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry; or
Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry; or
High Temp Wash, Heated Dry, High Temp Wash, Heated Dry.

This will start the diagnostic cycle. Let the dishwasher run for a few minutes, and then press Cancel to stop the dioagnostic cycle and clear the error. Please note, that this clears the error, but if you haven't found the cause (water-not-heating error), the condition will come right back the next time you run the dishwasher.

It sounds like you just need to reset the controller. This is done by running (or partially running) a diagnostic cycle, which will clear the error. Here's how to do it: Depending on the model, and the keys you have, press the following sequence of keys quickly (with less that 1 second between key presses:
Heated Dry - Normal - Heated Dry - Normal; or
High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry; or
Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry; or
High Temp Wash, Heated Dry, High Temp Wash, Heated Dry.
You will know that you have entered the diagnostic cycle when all the lights light up. Let it run for a few minutes, and then press Cancel to stop the diagnostic cycle and clear the error.

Note: On some of the newer Whirlpool, Kenmore, KitchenAid dishwashers, you start the diagnostic cycle by rapidly pressing the 3 left-most keys in the following sequence: 1 2 3, 1 2 3, 1 2 3.

Hi-Temp Wash, Hi-Temp Rinse, or Sanitize options.
Some models have options that may require a water heating delay, such as Hi-Temp Wash, Hi-Temp Rinse, or Sanitize. Additional time may be required to heat the water to the proper temperature. The dishwasher will continue to circulate water during this heating delay but the timer will not advance until the proper temperature is reached

Clean light keeps blinking and I can't start a new cycle

Puppa, clear the fault by pressing the keys in this order: high temp scrb--air dry--high temp scrub--air dry. Or, depending on your model..Sani rinse--air dry--sani rinse--air dry. The dishwasher will enter the service mode. Let it do it's thing or advance it through it by pressing the start key. The fault came from the board not sensing a rise in the water temp. Make sure to run the hot water before starting the dishwasher. The heating element runs through the nuetral side of the door switch so make sure the d/w is level and the door switches are all making. The element itself could be at fault. Catriver...post back

Kitchenaid dw won't go on

Salvy, see if you can get out of that fault by pressing, in this order within 6 seconds. Heated dry-normal-heated dry-normal. If you don't have those keys try- high temp-air dry-high temp-air dry. This is the service cycle, all lights should light up and the unit should go into a self test and clear the fault. The test lasts for about 25 minutes. Let us know it this works, Catriver..post back.

DW won't drain and "lock" light is stuck "ON"

Joe, see if you can reset the board by pressing heated dry-normal-heated dry-normal..(new board). Old board is high temp wash-air dry-high temp wash-air dry. See if it goes back to normal. If not you probably have a stuck or shorted keypad on the overlay..not the board. Catriver...post back
