- Disable toner save by change in printer driver.
- Toner refill toner cartridge Canon IRC-4580 and reset toner cartridge chip (replace new chip) or replace new genuine toner cartridge.
- Replace the OPC drum.

- After printer is power on, wait 30 minutes then start printing
- Clean up the contact between the high voltage terminal in the HVPS and the one in the se- Replace the new HVPS if the problems are not solved by 4 away above.

have you ran a test page , the test will take about 30 sheets of paper it will test everything and will correct itself

I think the scanner is dirty (and lamp glass inside), try to clean it, gently with a cloth (cotton), fine print that if if that ok

The fax scanning unit/encoder is dirty.

The fax scanning unit is like a camera. It take a picture of the document.

The glass plate is dirty and you may purchase a FAX CLEANING SHEET.

or similar product to clean out the dirty area.

The dark strip is cause by semi-dry wipe out correction ink.


Give your unit a good cleaning and let me know.

You will know when the printhead is starting to wear out by seeing white vertical lines. The line is a "void" area caused by an element/elements that are worn away - no image is being produced. Darkness is usually controlled by the printer driver and/or the label software being used.

Sounds like its time for a new drum/print cartridge. When it get worn you start to get poor quality prints and sometimes lines. COule also be scratched and transfering the line on the prints but in either case needs to be replaced.

try replacing the toner cart. or toner leaked on the area below in which case you will need to blow it out.

Does this happen both when copying and printing?
For printing solution, try another toner cartridge.
If lines continue to appear when copying (primarily through the automatic feeder) then lift the auto feeder, and clean the glass -mainly the narrow piece on the left side.

I would say you have a bad drum / toner cartridge.

Stuff you receive with vertical lines is probably the sender's dirty scanner.

A dirty glass base can cause ‘spots’ or blemishes to appear on your final printout. Additionally, if you had some sort of opaque liquid that may have transferred on to the glass base from a previous operation. But the majority of the unwanted vertical lines are generally caused by either a dirty or damaged print roller or faulty LEDs in the Scanner Module.

To separate one from the other you have to check the following:

Do you only see the lines with a Scan operation?
Do your print jobs print fine without any unwanted lines?

If you only see the unwanted lines during a Scan operation, then most likely you have a fault/dirty/obstructed LED module.

If you see the unwanted lines with all print operations (Scan, Print and Copy), then you most likely have a worn out, damaged or dirty Print Roller.
