Rangemaster excel 110. Timer broken, gas ignition spark thing broken , right hand oven not heating, lheat indicator light not coming on, slow cooker light on even when in off position. Help please

Hello Anon61,

Wow, that is a lot of problems with one cooker.
First of all, there must be an inspection of an engineer.

I am afraid he will tell you to buy a new one, as repair with so many troubles will cost a lot of money.

Timers are often the source of problems.
When that occurs, the oven that is controled by the timer will not work. For the Rangemaster Exel 110, the left hand oven is served by the timer, so this oven should not work too.
In this case, I would test the element in the right hand oven, as I think, it is gone.
When this cooker has an ignitor that works by pressing the knob, then all knobs work like it is one knob. That means, if no sparkplug ignites, then there is a problem with the ignitor or with the wireing.
When there is at least one plug that ignites, then the problem is in the contacts of the other knobs.

The light of the oven is a neon light, that only needs a very small amount of current. I think, that this light is on because of other electric problems. As soon as those problems are solved, the oven lamp will work again as it should.

I wish you a wonderfull weekend and a lot of succes, Dik

Clock and ingnition not working on a rangemaster dual fuel stove

  • Hello David,

when the clock does not work, the (left hand) oven will not work too I suppose.
Often when the clock does not work, it is only the timer that does not work. In that case, the timer can be bypassed. The oven still works then, but without the timer and the clock will also work as a clock.
    So no timer.

When it is an older rangemaster, and the ignition does not work, then probably are some wires leaking. I that case the power for the spark does not come to the burner sparkplug.
But when all plugs do not spark then there are 2 possibilities I think.

    1 the ignitor is gone
2 the ignitor does not get power

I hope this helps, I wish you a good weekend, Dik

Rangemaster 55 leisure. My timer has stopped working

Hi Stella,

i am sorry for you, but you can forget repairing the timer.
You can replace it of course.
You do not need the timer to operate the oven.
For that you need to bypass the timer. The clock will stay working normally.
Although the 55 is smaller then the 110, the working of the clock should be the same.
Net link will give you more information and I hope you will fin the solution there.
Kind regards and a good weekend, Dik

Ok. I inherited my rangemaster 110 when I moved house. I've no manual but a digital clock with a bell, 2 strange looking things that I presume mean ho and oven, then a hand and a plus and minus button. ...

Most of these timers have 3 buttons, the hand and the plus and minus buttons. Try pressing the minus and plus buttons at the same time. The display should flash. Then adjust the time with the plus and minus buttons. If this doesn't work just try different combinations of pressing 2 buttons. If the timer is not faulty on of these combinations will work.

User manual.
When the clock is first connected, the display flashes ( 0.00) and (?) alternately. To set the time, turn and hold the Timer knob to the clock symbol (?) and at the same time turn the Adjusting knob left or right until the clock shows the time of day. Remember this is a 24-hour clock. Let go of the Timer knob and it will spring back to the vertical, oven manual setting.
It is on page 6 of manual

Rangemaster classic 90

Regardless of the clock running, if the timer is not set to zero and off, the oven will not function. See my instructions on using the timer (http://www.fixya.com/support/t1416237-timer_instructions_rangemaster_toledo) I hope that this is your problem and it will show you how to get the oven going again.
