Samsung LCD -no picture/sound from any input source-Cable,DVD,PS3
Samsung LCD running for couple years with no problem - cable,DVD,PS3. Turned it on today and cannot get a signal from any input. I can see all of the TV menus so the panel is fine and was able to do a factory reset (info, menu, mute) but even after tuning the cable again cannot see any picture or sound. Very confusing that I cannot even get a picture from the DVD. All connections and source settings correct for each input. Everything worked perfectly yesterday and today nothing so I hope this is just a simple setting that got screwed up somehow.
Yesterday TV picture was working fine at the highest resolution on my PS3 with HDMI connection. DVD is just using S-cable and also had no issues yesterday.Yesterday TV picture was working fine at the highest resolution on my PS3 with HDMI connection. Hi there
I would go to menu on the remote , from there to picture go down the list, if you do not find anything there to help you. Go to Support and to the E manual .

Your Samsung has an Input Source button on the remote. If you are getting a "No Signal" message, you either have no cable, dish, antenna, or HDMI input to the television or have the wrong source selected. With the television turned on and/or a cable box, dish etc turned on, select all of your sources until a picture appears.
If it like my monitor, same hookups as yours, then when you want to use the hdmi port you need to disconnect the dvi cable. The monitor cannot read from hdmi & dvi when both are connected, Try this & see if your PS3 works. Good luck.
Depending on the year of your model of VIZIO your digital optical output may be tied to the DTV input only. Meaning the only time you will have audio coming out of the digital optical output is when your using the tuner and your on a digital channel. If your television is newer and the digital optical output is in white on the back of the television than it is tied to HDMI and the DTV Tuner and you will pass audio through the digital optical output when using HDMI or the Digital Tuner.
Now to get connect the HT: Normally you would run a digital optical cable from the source device to the home theatre system. Meaning if it was a PS3 you would run a optical cable from the Digital Out on the back of the PS3 to the Digital In on the Home Theatre receiver. If it was a DVD player than you would run the optical cable from the DVD player to the HT receiver. If you have a newer VIZIO and the optical output is in white and not black than you can run HDMI from the PS3 to the VIZIO and then run a optical cable from the VIZIO to the Home theater receiver.
You will have to adjust the audio setting in the PS3 to run audio out of the HDMI port if it is set to run audio out of the Digital Out or AV out. Also, if your going to run audio from the PS3 to the HT receiver through the Digital Out then you need to change the audio setting in the PS3 to Digital Out.
1. Select (Sound Settings) under (Settings) in the home menu. 2. Select [Audio Output Settings].
3. Select the input connector on the audio device.
Channel numbers and audio formats that are supported vary depending on the connector in use. AV is 2 ch. only, Digital Out is 2 ch. & 5.1 ch, and HDMI is upto 7.1.
Hi ,disconnect the cable and leave the three RCA cables in.Switch off TV and DVD player ,then switch on tv and dvd player next .If you see the dvd picture and have sound then i think the cable box is overriding the rca channel.I normaly use a scart connection for the dvd to cable box then another scart from cable to tv.Hope this helps..
when you switch the ps3 on if you hold down the power button for more than 4 seconds it runs the display setup. and sets the ps3 to run in the best possible option. hope this helps
Firstly connect your home theatre outpu HDMI to HDMI input1 on the TV. Then connect the PS£ HDMI to the other HDMI input on the TV. Now connected the optical cable from the PS3 to the optical input of the home cinema system. Your should now have surround sound from the PS3 and DVD.
Remote has new batteries. No problem accessing all menus on the TV.
