Only Sound Only the sound is present, the screen lights up very shortly and then stay's black.

How old is your unit?
Probably your unit has leaky capacitor or shorted driver transistor.

Sounds like the problem could be in the power supply of the TV. Have a technican check for defective capacitors if you're not equipped to do the job yourself.

hi the cause is screen back light not working properly. you need to remove the back cover of the monitor to access the internal part of the monitor. then look for the connector of the cold cathode fluorescent tube back light going to the power inverter board of the back light you will noticed a dry joints which cause a loose connection that is why you hear a sound that cause of spark. you need to re soldered the connector or replaced if totally burned.

is there a sound?. if sound is good with a totally black screen the cause is either power inverter board problem or bad screen back light.

TV comes on stays on for a short time than goes black with loss of sound green flashing light untill TV comes back on. takes maybe 2 min.

have you got a memory card inserted into the camera? this may have became faulty

Same problem with mine. Relays click, sound, no picture and a flashing power LED. I finally found a schematic online. I went through the high voltage circuits and found the power transistor 2SC5570 was shorted out. There is also a pico fuse in that area but my was not open. I replaced the transistor and prayed the flyback transformer was not shorted. It wasn't, I'm watching my old 36" right now. Not a bad fix (17.00) bucks. Wonder what a service tech would have charged ;)
