How to update ipod 4 gen to be able to use messenger and facebook

iOS 6 is possible only on iPod touch 4th generation and newer

Your i O/S is out of date, you will have to re sync your Ipod touch with i Tunes and download the latest firmware. Sometimes the software will lose its updates and some of your apps and programs won't run well. Including Facebook. Especially when you use Safari. What generation is your Touch? Gen 1, 2, 3? is it the MC Model? Example: One of My Ipod touches is an MC model 8GB i O/S 4.3.1 maybe this info can help, you can find your ipod info in the "Settings" menu. you should see a lay out in the About ipod tab.

For the iPod Touch before iOS 5 to update is only possible with connecting the device to iTunes on a computer. Plug it into your computer and open up itunes under devices click on your ipad and then click on check for update.

Google Ipod 2g ios 4 download; download the file, open up itunes and plug in your ipod. Hold down the shift key and click check for update, it will then allow you to choose a file and you have to pick the ios 4 software you downloaded before-hand.

to update your ipod touch second gen to 4.1 version you must connect to your itunes account on your computer with ipod attatched sync all apps, music, videos, everything because it will delete everything and needs everything backed up. then go to your ipod on itunes and it will say update, click it it will take around half an hour to update and restore you ipod fully. This worked for my ipod touch gen 2, it kept saying when i tried to update i still have things on my ipod not synced to itunes when i have synced multiple times but it updated ok and i do not notice anything missing. this is all i know about this i hope it helps.

The only viable trouble shooting option I have available on this current issue is to restore the ipod touch using itunes. Just in case you are unsure of how to do a restore, I have included step by step instructions below.

Try these options i got them from apple when my ipod dident work trying a new port and reinstalling itunes worked for me 1)Reset your iPod. 2)Retry with a different USB or FireWire port. 3)Restart your computer and make sure you have the latest software updates installed. 4)Remove iTunes software and then reinstall iTunes software from latest versions on the web. last resort 5)Restore your iPod.
